Dear Chris,
I miss you so much! I haven’t had anybody to talk about my problems since you left. At the moment I’m in
trouble and I need your advice.
The problem has to do with my roomate, Shirley. Last week I took her camera without asking her and I
lost it. I haven’t told her yet, but she’s going to find out. You see, she’s going to Seattle next week and
she’s going to need it.
What am I going to do? If I tell her, she’ll get really angry. And you know how Shirley is when she’s upset.
She’ll never let me borrow any of her things again. Unfortunately, there’s more. Next Saturday there’s a
great party and I don’t want to miss it. The problem is I don’t have anything nice to wear.
So, I was thinking of borrowing something from Shirley. Of course, if she finds out about the
camera, I can forget about it.
Oh, Chris, I feel so helpless. If I had the money, I would buy her a new camera, but I don’t . What
would you do if you were me?
