    Submission on the abolition of the concept of domicile in UK law to the Economy, Business &

    Trade Commission of Labour’s National Policy Forum

    I would like to submit a proposal for abolition of the concept of domicile in UK law. This would
    answer in part the question “How do we build a fair tax system that tackles inequality and ensures
    sustainable public finances?” asked in the Economy, Business & Trade Commission’s discussion
    paper. It would end the preferential tax regime for non-UK domiciles (also known as ‘non-doms’)
    resident in the UK.
