How did the teacher conduct his/her action research work?

Mr. Jimenez has developed a unique procedure for doing action research. His initial action was
to identify the issue. Through it, he discovered that the instruction of the coach is the problem,
not the athlete.

Describe the extension project the teacher is(was) involve(d).

His extension project involved a lot of physical activity in both his school and community. One
of his key responsibilities as a volunteer on the Disaster Risk Reduction Management team is
the relief operation during pandemic.

Analyze 4

Answer the following questions:

Does school-community engagement influence the educative process? Justify your answer.

Yes. There is open and effective communication amongst all community members in an
active school community. Giving candid feedback is easy for them because they know they
will be heard. An active school community has many advantages for all parties involved, from
children to district administrators, but not all community leaders are aware of how to
encourage involvement. Leading an involved school community has several advantages for
school leaders. According to him, learning is not only in school but also it can extend in the
community. The school and community are the contributor in our society. For Mr. Jimenez,
sports can be the bridge of the community and the school to have an engagement.

How would you report achievement or results to the bigger community?

I will make an accomplishment report which is the compilation of all the achievements.

How do personal and professional skills of a teacher help in preparing his/her tasks/functions?
Teachers have a strong community skill, and we all know that communication is the key, especially in the
community where all people need to communicate to each other. Teachers will use their professional skills to
help the community to resolve a problem and will help the whole community.

Reflect 5

1. As a future teacher, how would you establish good school-community collaboration?

How can you work well in the community?

Community-school collaborations are an important piece of supporting children’s well-being.

And as a second parent of your student, you must support and guide them. And PTA is very
important for school-community collaboration. You can report the good and bad behavior of
their child during PTA meeting.

2. Do you have any advice about how to invite stakeholders to engage in school-
community projects/activities?

According to Mr. Jimenez, be transparent and honest. They say what you see what
you get that’s what Mr. Jimenez want to point out. Providing what the stakeholder
what they want to need and see to satisfy the stakeholder. For me, by communicating
the projects' goals and objectives with the stakeholders, you can encourage them to
participate in school community projects and activities. Next, invite them to share
their thoughts.

3. In the future, how will you enhance your personal and professional development?

When it comes to personal development, I will always reflect to my actions and learn from my
own experience. When it comes to professional development, I will study some research and
attend classes and seminars.
