    Much ink has been spilt in proving and disproving That Leontes’ jealousy is :

    Sudden

    Fierce

    Self Destructive

    Gervinus says
    The idea of his wife’s unfaithfulness arises in Leontes from the quick result of her entreat to
    Polixenes to prolong his stay a little. This actually is the whole ground for Leontes’ jealousy.

    Hermione is suspected of a sudden and shameless dishonor
