Self Reflection
This career choice is interesting to me because I would really like to see our youth and how I
would possibly be able to help them during their most crucial stages of development. I want to
learn about different family situations and how every minor detail can impact a child’s growth
mentally. As someone who has personally been in contact with a pediatric psychiatrist, I love
how my progress is being documented throughout my mental health journey. I would love to be
able to provide peace for someone maybe even younger than I am. If I were to rate this career
from 1-10, I would choose 8. I would also like to perhaps be more involved with the pediatric
mental health field, such as being a therapist and learning more about play therapy. Being on
the medicine side of things seems enjoyable, but it’d also be nice to not HAVE to prescribe
every child with medicine in hopes that they will be able to learn other healthy coping
mechanisms.
