PHYSICS

Various examples of physical phenomena 1

 Physics (from Ancient Greek: "knowledge of nature") is the
natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion
and behavior through space and time.
 Thus, the main goal of physics is to understand how the universe
behaves.

In the classical mechanics - observed in everyday life, matter is any

substance that has mass and takes up space; this includes atoms and
anything made up of these.

What is mechanics?
Mechanics is a branch of physics that is
concerned with the state of rest or motion of
bodies that are subjected to the action of
forces.
It deals with the effect of forces upon material
bodies.

Analytic mechanics

Analytic mechanics includes the study of:

Dynamics - which deals with the accelerated
motion of bodies.
Statics - deals with the equilibrium of bodies,
that is, those that are either at rest or move
with a constant velocity.
Kinematics: It is the study of motion of
particles and bodies without reference to
masses and effects of forces.

Dynamics: It is the branch of mechanics which

deals with the particles and bodies in motion.

Statics: It is the branch of mechanics which

deals with the particles and bodies at rest.
