PERFORMANCE TASK # 1

3D MODEL
The Cell: Plant, and Animal Structure

DATE ASSIGNED: September 29, 2022

DEADLINE: October 07, 2022

(You can find a partner to work with/this will be done by pair)

INTRODUCTION:
For your Performance Task number 1, construct a 3D model of a eukaryotic cell. It can be a
plant cell or animal cell. Use recyclable materials. You also have to make a layout of your output.
Please see the attached guidelines and rubrics for your guidance. This project is designed to allow
you to be familiar with the different cell organelles and to ensure a deeper understanding of
the topic.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR 3D MODEL:
1. Use common materials such as recycled materials, cardboard, wood, paper, clay, string, thread,
buttons, pipe cleaners, beads, yarn, dead leaves, rocks, etc.
2. Be creative, you do not need to spend a lot of money to make this model.
3. Do not use edible fruits, vegetables, or anything that will spoil.
4. Do not forget to label the parts of the cell.
5. Make sure all organelles are securely attached to the model.
6. Location of organelles within the cell must be shown correctly.
7. Identify your model cell as plant or animal cell.
8. Project should not be larger than a long-sized bond paper.
9. Put your name on the base of your model.
10. FINAL OUTPUT: Please ATTACH at least 2 visible pictures of your final output showing the
whole component of your work and attach it to the LMS
a. 1 PICTURE – The final output itself (close-up pictures of your work).
ST

b. 2ND PICTURE – All group members, holding your final output (ensuring that the output is
really your work).
ORGANELLES:
The model you choose to create must include the following organelles:
PLANT CELL ANIMAL CELL
Cell Membrane Cell Membrane
Cell Wall Cytoplasm
Chloroplast Mitochondria

Mitochondria Nucleolus
Nucleus Nuclear Membrane
Nucleolus Golgi complex (body)
Nuclear Membrane Endoplasmic Reticulum
