Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

1. Motivation

Before moving on to our topic or lesson for

today, let's do an activity. Your (Students listening)
understanding of how to maintain materials
and tools properly will be tested by this.
Answer the following test questions on a
1/4 sheet of paper. TRUE OR FALSE State
TRUE if the assertion is true and FALSE if
it is untrue.

1. To prevent workplace hazards, all

tools and equipment must be kept in
good working order.
2. To keep tools, equipment, and
machines in a safe, useable
condition, reduce downtime, and
increase production, preventive
maintenance involves the
systematic care and preservation of
these items.
3. Depending on the kind of tools and
equipment used, the level of
maintenance information to give
will vary.
4. Tools and equipment that are
broken or defective ought to be
marked and taken out of service.
5. Schedules for equipment
maintenance are typically available
from manufacturers.

2. Presentation

I have a video here watch the proper way of

maintaining the tools and equipment.

3. Analysis / Discussion

So now we will proceed to our lesson

proper.
To prevent workplace hazards, all tools and
equipment must be kept in good working
order. Tools, machines, and equipment
must be inspected before use according to
regulations.

Am I right class? Yes ma'am

Now what is preventive maintenance?

Who can answer anyone from the class? Ma'am In order to keep tools, equipment,
and machines in a safe, useable condition,
minimize downtime, and increase
productivity, preventive maintenance is the
methodical cleaning, protecting, and up
keep of these items.
Very good

We must always be aware that maintenance

tasks themselves are potentially hazardous
and can result in injury.

The elements of a successful maintenance

program are:

1. Well-planned and organized

2. Hazard Control
3. Operational Procedure Design
4. Key Personnel Training.

Depending on the kind of tools/equipment

used, the level of detail must be included
regarding tool and equipment maintenance
will vary. There may be very specialized
inspection and maintenance needs for some
construction equipment. Different types of
maintenance may be needed for electronic
equipment. Simple upkeep may be required
for hand tools. Power tools need to be kept
in good working condition. This may be
limited to making sure that damaged
electrical cords or plugs are repaired or
replaced and that guards or other safety
devices are functional and that blades and
bits are replaced as needed. Tools and
equipment that have been classified as
damaged or defective should be taken out
of service.

Are you with me class?

Okay let's continue Yes ma'am

The following general guidelines should

be followed when maintaining tools and
equipment:

1. Obtaining a copy of the

manufacturer's recommended
maintenance schedule.
2. Assuring that maintenance is carried
out as needed.
3. Assuring that the person(s)
performing the maintenance are
competent licensed mechanics.
4. Specifying who is in charge of
overseeing equipment maintenance
and where the records are kept
5. Establishing a system for removing
and tagging damaged or defective
tools.

Storing tools and equipment properly

Tools and equipment should be stored
appropriately to keep them long-lasting and
in good shape. Tools and equipment that
have been stored properly will be simple to
discover when needed and are less likely to
go lost.

To keep tools, equipment, and machines in

a safe, useable condition, minimize
downtime, and increase output, preventive
maintenance is the methodical cleaning,
protecting, and care of these items.

Good practices include:

 Proper labeling and storage of parts.

 The tools on the board should be
labeled and positioned correctly.
 To ensure that the tools are always
put back in the same position, think
about drawing the shapes of the
tools on the board.
 Use containers to store minor parts,
and think about assigning someone
to be in charge of the proper upkeep
of tools and parts.

list of advantages below:

 Reduced costs since parts and tools

are readily available and kept in
good shape.
 Productivity rises because less time
is spent hunting for supplies like
tools, equipment, and parts.
 Employees at the workshop grow in
confidence and responsibility.
