TASK

The primary objective of this course is to prepare the students for the practice of operation
management. An understanding of the principles of operations management is important for all
managers and staffs, because they provide a systematic way of looking at an organization’s
processes. The need to manage manufacturing and service operations efficiently and effectively
has led to a considerable increase in interest in operations management in recent years.
Operation Management is an area of management concerned with overseeing, designing, and
controlling the process of production and redesigning business operations in the production
of goods or services. It involves the responsibility of ensuring that business operations
are efficient in terms of using as few resources as needed, and effective in terms of meeting
customer requirements. It is concerned with managing the process that converts inputs into
outputs.

In the Operations Management course, you have learned specific theories, tools and techniques
that helped the companies to understand the overall process of producing goods and services
as well as to achieve their success in handling manufacturing and service operations efficiently
and effectively.

In a group of SEVEN (7), think of any NEW business that you want to form. For that new
business, prepare an operation plan based on the 8 strategic decisions of operation
management that you have learned.

Your report format shall follow the following:
