The Microsoft company provides product and solution consulting and support services, and we train and
certify IT system integrators and developers. They also provide cloud-based solutions that deliver
customers software, services, and content over the Internet using shared computing resources located
in centralized data centers.

Microsoft have been facing problems with software efficiency, to solve and look closely the said
problem it’s best for management to use Pareto chart which indicates that 80% of errors are caused by
20% of errors. Fixing 20% of the most common errors will solve about 80% of customer problems. As the
former CEO of Microsoft put it, the 80-20 rule applies not only to features but also to software bugs.

Pareto chart help Microsoft focus on the major causes of the problem with software efficiency, through
this management will be able to identify which is needed to do first to get the desired improvement.

Moreover, Microsoft must compete effectively to remain successful. Thus, I think it would be best if the
management will use the Porter’s five forces, considering that the competitive rivalry is the top most
affecting the company. So company needs to establish strategies that make them take the lead and
advantage in the competition.

The Porter’s five forces helps Microsoft to identify factors that affects their performance, like focusing
on bargaining power of buyer, bargaining power of supplier, and the threat of new entry which help
them to compete in the industry.
