A. Course Description
Is an examination of plant function ranging in complexity from individual cells up to the
whole plant this course will focus on the major physiological process occurring in plants grown
under ideal condition as well touch on the physiology of stress adaption

B. Course objective
1. To develop an understanding of the physiological ecology of trees, with special
emphasis on carbon and water relation and;
(a.) Unique physiological adaptions that set trees apart from other plants
(b.) Integration of physiological adaptions across levels of biological organization from
the cell to the landscape; and
(c.) Interactions among the environment
2. To become familiar with current issues in ecophysiological research through
discussion of the literature.
3. To become familiar with current experimental and measurement approaches used in
ecophysiolgical research
