Modern Technology Lives Within Every Part of a Students’ Life

For the 6th English Festival, the English Department held up seminar-workshop on
Multimedia and Authoring Tools for 2 days in the MSU Gymnasium, November 7 for the
College Department and on November 8 for the Senior High Department, with the theme,
“Redefining Purposive Communication through Information Technology”. The seminar-
workshop, had three speakers, Ms. Celine Cabilao, and Paul Bongkito.
The first speaker is Ms. Celine Cabilao,a faculty member of the Senior High. She
discussed how students have lived their lives without using cellphones every day. She gave
emphasis, by giving and example, her brother from the Senior High Department, who cannot live
his life without bringing his phone anywhere he goes. The second speaker, who was an alumnus
from MSU-IIT, and is now a staff of the MSU-BUUG Campus. He discussed about how to make
a blog. He gave discussed what is a blog and the advantages it could bring and lastly, he
demonstrated on how make and sign up for a blog. One of the Senior High Student made a blog
through a hotspot and had it shown to the crowd. The last speaker, Paul Bongkito, a faculty
member of the college department. He discussed on how to make a vlog, he discussed what
benefits a vlog could give and he gave tokens to those students who participated in answering his
questions about vloggers, software to use for the vlogs, such as Filmora, and Vegas Pro. He
demonstrated on how to make the vlog and Renz Maquiling, a STEM 11 student, showed his
output and got awarded for it.
After the seminar-workshop, all the students who participated was given certificates,
from Grade 11 to Grade 12 students.
