Public health campaigns

Introduction

In this report I will provide a description of some health campaigns in Czech republic. I will
also point out people’s attitudes to them. The final section makes some recommendations as
to how people could be persuaded to live a bit healthier.

Current situation

I have met a few people involved in public health care and I have gathered some information
on that matter. They agreed on one statement – there are attempts to promote living healthy.
Students are led to live healthier lives. More lectures are being organized but they are not
enough since there are still plenty of fast food advertisements.

People’s attitudes to campaigns

Czech nation is divided into several groups. First, there are those who take their health
seriously and therefore listen to the experts. Then there are people who are not interested in
living super healthy. Yet, they try to have enough physical activity and not eat junk food very
often. Finally, people who refuse to listen to doctors and professionals. They eat fast food
regularly and barely do any exercise.

Recommendations

It is quite obvious that there is not enough promotion of a healthier lifestyle. I would therefore
recommend following:

o extend the awareness of impacts unhealthy lifestyle has on us by advertising

o improve a prevention by convincing people to go to see a doctor regularly

o show people that living a healthy life can be fun

This final recommendation is essential because people tend to believe that to live a healthy
life is very exhausting.
