1. GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual is valid for:

The serial number is indicated on the nameplates (the arrows show the position on the modules).

The manual has been drawn up and illustrated using the most up-to-date information available at the time of
publication. Any differences between the manual and the machine will be due to upgrades after the manual was
published. Variations, technical errors or typos will be revised in later editions.

2. SAFETY INFORMATION
The person responsible for the operation and
maintenance of the Processor must be fully
acquainted with all aspects of its operation and
must be skilled in its maintenance.
Personnel must know the following precautions and
be aware of the problems related to safety matters.
GENERAL SAFETY
- Safety goggles and gloves must be worn when
servicing the machine.
- Remove any chains, jewelry, ties or similar
garments when operating or working on the
machine.
- Any mechanical or electrical intervention must
be authorized by qualified personnel.
- Do not put cloths or plastic parts on the
machine.
- Protective clothing must be kept near the
machine.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- Any electrical faults must be repaired by a
qualified electrician.
- Do not remove or tamper with the safety
systems.
MECHANICAL SAFETY
- Keep hands or tools away from moving parts.
- Replace all the protective covers after working
on or servicing the machine.
CHEMICAL SAFETY
- The machine uses chemical products, which can
be dangerous unless you follow the products’
safety instructions.
- It is always mandatory to use protective goggles
and gloves when in contact with chemical
products, in particular when replacing the
bottles of chemical products and when cleaning
the machine.
- Always hold liquid probes so that they are
facing down.
- In any case, it is essential to follow the
instructions provided by the manufacturer of
these liquids, as indicated on the product label.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSERTING AND
REMOVING THE PLATES
- Never insert plates with a thickness of more
than 0.4 mm.
- Do not insert more than one plate at a time.
- Do not insert foreign objects.
- Do not insert damaged plates.
- Keep your fingers away from the outfeed of the
machine.
- Let go of the plate immediately, as soon as it
has entered the infeed section.
- Do not remove the developed plates until they
have come all the way out of the machine.
SAFETY SYSTEMS
The machine is fitted with the following safety
systems to prevent risks caused by moving parts:
- EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON on both sides.
Pressing one of these buttons stops all machine
functions.
- SAFETY SWITCH: both covers of the machine
are fitted with a switch that detects when the
cover is open (or closed). All machine functions
stop when the cover is opened.
CAUTION! Do not remove or tamper one of
these switches (or parts thereof).
If the switch is faulty, replace it before using
the machine.
- SIDE PROTECTIVE COVERS prevent contact
with the mechanical and electrical parts of the
machine.
CAUTION! Do not remove these protective
covers while the machine is running.
- SERVICE KEY used when removing rubber
rollers. The use of this key is for maintenance
staff only.
CAUTION! Remove this key at the end of the
operation and maintenance during normal use.

3. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
GENERAL
The Processor holds four major sections: GUM SECTION
To apply a layer of gum to protect the plate against
oxidations.
DRAIN SECTION
To collect the overflow liquid from the developer
section. DRYING SECTION
To supply a dry and ready to use plate when it exits
DEVELOPER SECTION the Processor.
To remove the coating in the non-printing areas.

RINSE SECTION
To wash/rinse chemical residues from the plate.

4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PREPARATION FOR USE
Make sure the machine has been installed
according to the instructions.

IMPORTANT! See paragraph “CHEMICAL

SAFETY“ before performing this operation.

 Remove/pull the left and right lower side

panel to have access to the bottle probes.
 Make sure that the water arrives to the 3
machine.
 Make sure that the drain filter valve (1) is
closed and the filter valves (2) are in vertical
position (open).
 Place the developer overflow probe(4) into
an empty 20 l bottle.
 Place the replenish developer bottle probe
(5) into a full developer bottle.
 Place the fill developer bottle probe (6) into
a full developer bottle.
 Place the gum finisher bottle probe (7) into
a full gum bottle.

 Make sure that the developer and water

 Make sure that the Processor is plugged

into the main power supply.
 Deactivate the emergency buttons if
necessary.
 Remove the service key and close the lids,
if open.

USING THE MACHINE
After having carried out all the preparatory
operations, wait till the Processor comes in the
READY mode. The ready message will show in the
display.
Meanwhile it is possible to feed a scrap plate to test
that everything is in working order.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
Feed a plate slowly into the Processor’s entry slot
until it engages the entrance rollers.
Activated by the plate, the input sensor will allow
for a few seconds to better position the plate, before
starting the processing cycle.
Verify that the status light turn ON, indicating that a
plate is being fed into the machine.
The status light becomes OFF again shortly after the
plate has left the input sensor.
A new plate can then be inserted.
As the plate advances, the PLC will activate the
brush, the water pump, the gum pump, and drying
cycles in succession. It will switch them off
successively after the plate has left the
corresponding section.

OVERVIEW MAIN SCREEN

The USER window is displayed when the machine is
turned on.
The values in the window above are only sample
values.
This window displays the following information:
The main window shows the current status of the
machine in real time (machine type, software
version, alarms, operating mode).

 Developer Conductivity;
 Developer Condition; CONFIGURATION
 Roller speed; Press this button to open the configuration window.
 Dryer Temperature; In USER mode you can:

DEVELOPER CONDITION COUNTER

The status bars which show the condition of the
gum are displayed in the USER window. These bars may have 3 different colors:

Depending on the values in the Condition gauges GREEN: if the value is less than 100%
maintenance needs to be done. (plate volume lower than 5000 m2 or less than 40
days have passed since last maintenance).
These bars show the total m2 of plates processed
and the ageing of the gum (i.e. the number of days ORANGE: If the value is equal to or higher than
since the last maintenance). 100% (plate volume 5000 m2 - 5250 m² or 40 - 44
days have passed since last maintenance). We
recommend to do machine in this case.

every 40 days, even if less than 5000 m2 of
plates have been processed.

IMPORTANT! We recommend cleaning the

rollers in the dryer section each 2500 m². The
instructions for performing this operation can be
found in the paragraph on cleaning the rollers.

GUM SECTION RINSE CYCLE

To perform a rinse cycle of the gum section, proceed
as follows:
Remove the gum bottle and replace it with a bottle Pushing (min. 2 seconds) the button , will

 Lift the upper roller and pull it out from the

lateral bearing, positioned on the opposite side.
NUMBERING ON THE MACHINE

IMPORTANT! Position the rollers in the machine

in accordance with the numbering shown on the
rollers and on the machine.

 Lift the lower roller first at the right side of the

machine, than pull it out, being careful not to
damage the plastic bearings.
 The plastic bearings of the lower rollers are only
inserted on the roller shaft, verify that these are
placed on all rollers before placing them in their NUMBERING ON THE ROLLERS

Turn the machine off by switching the main switch
OFF.
CAUTION! Make sure the main switch is in the
OFF position to prevent damaging the machine
or injuring the operator!

Proceed as follows:
 Push the brush down (A) by hand and rotate
the lock bracket (B); repeat the same
operation on the other side of the brush.
 Lift the brush vertical.
 Lift the support rollers vertical (C) to remove
it from the Processor.

HOW TO REMOVE THE SPRAY BARS

Turn the machine off by switching the main switch Proceed as follows:

HOW TO REMOVE THE FILTER CARTRIDGE

Before removing the filter cartridge, it is necessary
to switch OFF the machine from the main switch.  Remove the filter cartridge.

CAUTION! To avoid any injury to machine and

operators, double check that all power is
removed from the Processor!

Proceed as follow:

 Although the filter is connected to the dev.

tank, it is not needed to drain the tank
before opening the filter.

 Place the two filter valves (1) in horizontal
position to close the developer circuit.
 Place an empty bottle (about 2 liter
capacity) under the filter and open the valve
(2) to empty the filter housing.

 Reinstall the cartridge in the filter housing

and screw on the filter, pay attention to
1 proper position the cartridge (4) and sealing
rubber-ring (5).
 Close the valve (2).
 Place the two filter valves (1) in vertical
position to open the developer circuit.

ATTENTION! To avoid any injury to machine,
double check that both filter valves (1) are in
vertical position! (open)

 When the filter housing is drained, unscrew

the filter housing (3).

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
GENERAL
Clean the machine regularly to reduce the risk of
malfunctions and maintain the best plate quality.
One operator alone should be responsible for routine
maintenance.
This operator should be fully aware of the functional
character and maintenance procedures of the
machine.
ATTENTION! Before proceeding, the person
doing the maintenance should be well aware of
safety regulations and have the required
protective clothing, as described in the
paragraph ‘SAFETY INFORMATION’.
ATTENTION! Do not put articles of clothing or
plastic parts on the machine; this could block
the airflow around the machine causing the
machine to overheat and condensate to form.
CAUTION! Make sure the machine is
disconnected from the mains before cleaning
and servicing.
ATTENTION! Refer to the dedicated Maintenance
Instructions document.

MAINTENANCE ACCESSORIES
ATTENTION! Never use sharp or abrasive
materials to clean any part of the machine.
Wear the following personal protective equipment:
Apron, rubber gloves and protective goggles.
Clean the machine with the following:
 Lint-free cloth, sponge and soft brush.

CLEANING PRODUCTS
Warm water 30 – 40°C (86 – 104°F).
