1. Cite strong points why Rizal is a chosen national hero.

(At least 2 reasons)

Rizal battled for the country's freedom in a quiet but effective manner, deserving of the title
of national hero. He chose to express his love for the Philippines through his works, such as
novels, rather than by employing violence. In addition, he deserves to be recognized as a
national hero for giving the oppressed Filipino people a voice after decades of oppression by
the Spanish. Being educated, he was subjected to some of the mistreatment carried out by
Spanish friars and government officials. As the founder and a member of La Liga Filipina, he
battled for changes to Spanish colonial rule.

2. Weak points why Jose Rizal should be replaced by Andres Bonifacio as the Philippine
greatest national hero.

Bonifacio ought to replace Rizal's place as our country's national hero since he advocated for
the Philippines' complete independence from Spain, which could be achieved by means of a
revolution. Despite the fact that Rizal may have inspired Bonifacio to some extent with this
notion of independence, Bonifacio is the one who successfully carried it out. The weak point
in Rizal's belief is that he didn't support Bonifacio's idea for the revolution, even if it was
successful. And that shows that Rizal is unwilling to complete something that calls for a
revolution. Additionally, Rizal was merely an American-sponsored hero; they merely pushed
that Rizal be named the nation's hero out of fear that the Filipinos might revolt in a manner
similar to Bonifacio if he had been named the hero.

3. The salient points of R.A.1425.

There are five salient points of the Jose Rizal Law (RA 1425).

1. To rededicate the lives of adolescents to the values of liberty, courage, fortitude, justice,
and patriotism.
2. To honor Dr. Jose Rizal for dedicating his life and effort to developing the Filipino culture.
3. To receive an inspirational source of patriotism through studying Rizal's life, works, legacy,
and writings.
4. To recognize the significance of Rizal's ideas and teachings about the present societal
circumstances and settings
5. To promote the implementation of such ideas in contemporary social and personal issues.

Republic Act No. 1425, also referred to as the Rizal Law, is a Philippine law that mandates
José Rizal courses in all educational institutions from across country. Anyhow, the Rizal Law
was highly restricted by the Catholic Church in the Philippines, which was highly sensitive to
the anti-clerical themes in Rizal's books Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.
4. Describe the socio-economic and political setting of the world when Rizal was born in
the
19th century.

The economic state of the Philippines throughout the 19th century gave rise to haciendas or
the cash-crop economy. where major areas of the land would be used for crops considered
as cash crops. Tobacco, sugar, coffee, and abaka are a few income crops. Due to its trade
liberalisation and the abundance of these goods there, the Philippines grew to be a major
exporter of these goods and developed a reputation worldwide. These factors symbolized
the transition from a barter to an economy based on money. Because to cash crops and the
ability to build, the 19th century saw the growth of the middle class, the land being the main
source of wealth, and the development of technological partnerships among the Philippines'
various islands. Railroad, steamships, and advancements in communication allowed the
regional variety of the Philippines to become connected. The Filipinos likewise saw
education as a tool for independence movements. It is well-known that the Philippines was
among the richest nations in the 19th century. Because the Philippines had an abundance of
cash crops, it largely influenced the supply in world trade. From this control, the Philippines
was considered as being technologically advanced at the time because it possessed railroads,
steamships, and highly advanced communication systems.

5. Name at least 2 philosophers whose political thoughts are found in Rizal's work.

1. Dr. Ferdinand Blumentritt, his remarkable analytical skills, and his genuine determination
to contribute to the growth of his countrymen and women and the growth of his country's
civilisation. All of these factors influenced Rizal to become the man he is. His contributions
include the German translation of Rizal's first book, Noli me Tangere.
2. Don Anastacio, also known to as Philosopher Tasyo. On the one side, he is called to as a
philosopher since the residents of the town recognized his thoughts to be inspirational.
Tasyo stands for the educated Filipinos who had once acknowledged the traditions of the
Spanish rule. They stopped being interested when they returned to the Philippines and
recognized how different their native people were from their colonizers. The more they
engage in their education, the more unusual they become to the people they are trying to
enlighten. In Noli Me Tangere, Don Anastacio played a crucial role.
