SUBJECT: PROPOSED RESTRUCTURING OF THE WHOLE ORGANIZATION
ABC is a technology company that manufactures and sells all kinds of electronic equipment.
Pursuant to the unpredictable business environment, the Chief Executive Officer has proposed a
restructuring plan to help the organization stay afloat and running. This will aid the company to
innovate with greater speed, efficiency, and capability in a fast-changing business climate.
The reorganization will run for the next few months from 20 April 2022 and will be implemented
effective 20 July 2022.
The program aims to incorporate and realign the organizational strategic goals to fulfill the
company's mission and vision for the short and long-term effects.
The main focus will be restructuring the company as a single strategy, improving capabilities in
all disciplines, including sales and innovation, working together and vouching for a team spirit
towards the achievement of common goals of productivity and success, and lastly, how the
organization empowers its hirers and allocates resources to its programs.
The restructuring is due to a 5% continuous drop in profit margins for the company despite our
competitors posing a growth of 10% on their profits.
It is prudent that if the organization is to keep running, the following austerity measures will
have to be undertaken. Namely:
 Merging of the sales and marketing departments.
 Merging of the procurement and finance departments.
 Launching three new products to increase company sales.
 Cost-cutting measures will include laying off TEMPORARILY some employees to save
up to 20% of the monthly operational costs for the organization. This is to compensate for
the drop in profits on a short-term basis.
 Allowing some managers to take leave without pay.
 Seek additional ways to increase company sales and retention, and attract new customers.
 The 20% savings will allow the organization to launch the three new products to generate
additional profits and sales.
The aim of the merger plan is to eliminate additional expenses and release capital for other
functions that will advance productivity and efficiency in the organization.
It is expected that once the continence measures are implemented, and profitability picks up
again, ABC will reinstate the affected managers and employees.

For employees intending to resign due to realignment in the organization, the organization will
pay their full severance pay and other benefits as entitled to them.
Mr. Andrew, the general manager, will be in charge of the proposed rationalization.
Additionally, all the staff is expected to participate in workshops dated 18 th and 29th March and 5
April 2022.
The purpose is to collect views, suggestions, and meaningful feedback from the staff on how the
reformation can be implemented with the least disruptions to the company's daily operations. All
the staff is encouraged to participate and contribute positively to the seminar.
The company’s mission and vision have always been to provide a conducive atmosphere for all
persons for growth and development and entrench a positive organizational culture grounded on
realizing our full potential by creating new electronic equipment to serve the world's
technological needs.
