when we look at the permit given to employees
using their personal mobile devices for work. The
advantages and disadvantages largely depend on
the work environment. Allowing employers to use
personal devices during work may enhance
communication and networking efficiency, rather
than sending emails back and forth which is
more time costly and insufficient. It also
advantages the company by minimizing IT costs
as employers could bring devices of their choice,
which also brings comfort to their work
environment and possibly allow them to have a
better job performance. Allowing employers to
use personal devices during work could also
bring disadvantages, BYOD allows employees to
freely use their devices which companies can not
take much control of what everyone is doing on
the devices, this leads to misusing work time with
personal time. Furthermore, it would not only
create more work for managing the security of
the mobile devices but also the risk of the device
being lost or stolen, potentially causing sensitive
data being leaked.
