The gas extinguishing agent supply shall be from the central supply system.
Clean agent for fire suppression system shall be FM-200. This system comprises a versatile
range of cylinders, valves and related components which have been selected for use with FM-
200. Cylinder shall be manufactured from high strength alloy steel. FM-200 shall be stored as
a liquid in pressurized containers.
Valves shall be manufactured from tough, corrosion resistant brass under stringent quality
control standards. Pressure monitoring gauges are provided for easy servicing. Valve is
actuated by electrical solenoid.
Nozzle range of custom-designed shall be 360° ceiling-mounted types. FM-200 systems shall
be FM Global listed and meet the criteria UL. Vendor shall do calculation for FM-200
requirement capacity.
Cylinder of agent shall be placed in location that far from the cause mechanical, chemical and
other damage.
Clean agent system shall include caution and warning sign.

9.5 Storage of Extinguishing Agent


The agent shall be stored in liquid form at ambient temperature in high-pressure cylinder-
containers.
Each cylinder shall have its own built-in pressure safety valves and also be equipped with
pressure gauge to indicate the pressure of its content.
All cylinders shall be distinctly and permanently marked with the quantity of agent contained,
the empty cylinder weight, the pressurization pressure and the zones they are protecting.
Cylinder manifold shall be provided with non-return or check valves to prevent back flow when
any cylinder is being removed for maintenance.
If cylinder stored in an outdoor area, the cylinder shall be protected from direct sunlight.

9.6 Piping and Fitting


All piping shall be seamless pipes complying with ASTM A-106 B. Flanges shall be class 300
of ANSI 16.5. All valves and fitting shall be suitable for a 42 bar system.
Discharge nozzles shall be manufactured in corrosion resistant material and shall be
positioned in a manner to effect a uniform concentration at the shortest time after discharge.

9.7 Marking
Nameplates and identifications are also required for component identified by a tag number on
the project drawings and documents.
Cylinders shall be fitted with manufacturer's nameplate indicating the type and quantity of
agent used and all relevant working and test pressure.
Cylinders shall be marked with all relevant safety precautions.
The manual release device(s) shall be clearly labelled.
10. LOCAL ALARM AND LOCAL CONTROL PANEL
All detectors shall be wired to Local Control Panel. Local Control Panel shall consist, as
follow:
 Building Fire Alarm Panel (BFAP) for fire alarm in building
 All smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, necessary warning
 lamps, horns, and signs as applicable inside the building shall be connected to BFAP.
 Station Fire Alarm Panel (SFAP) for F&G system in field area
 All combustible gas detectors, flame detectors, manual call points, warning lamps,
horns, and signs as applicable in piping station area shall be connected to SFAP
 SFAP and BFAP shall be installed in Control Room
The signal from SFAP and BFAP shall be sent to RTU so the workstation shall be able to
monitor the fire and gas detection status at each point.
SFAP and BFAP shall conform to manufacturing standards as per NFPA standard or UL/FM
approved.
SFAP and BFAP shall have a panel mounted, operator interface as per recognized supplier
standard and individual battery back-up.
All I/O of SFAP and BFAP shall be provided with anti surge device.
F&G System shall have a Man Machine Interface (MMI).
Hardwired data transferred to SCADA system using serial Modbus shall be as follows:
a. Location of fire and gas leaking,
b. Alarm annunciation,
c. Activation of extinguishing system,
d. False alarm, and

e. Detector status.
Contractor shall provide hardware/software for interfacing between F&G system and other
system
Local control panel shall be connected to Local SCADA system and displayed on Human
Machine Interface (HMI). Data transferred to Local SCADA system, as minimum, shall be as
follows:
 Alarm annunciation
 Activation of extinguishing system
 False alarm
 Detector status by layout at HMI
Contractor shall determine data transfer setting to Local SCADA system from BFAP & SFAP.
Contractor shall provide system software and hardware. Security "switches" shall be fitted for
protection against unauthorized program modifications.
Each SFAP/BFAP shall be provided with the following inputs, as minimum:
 Detector circuits separated by detector type and fire zone,
 Alarm silence from a push button mounted on the face of the panel,
 Emergency alarm activation from a push button mounted on the face of the panel or a
breakable glass.
 Manual Call Point.
Each Local Control Panel shall be provided with the following outputs, as minimum:
 Alarm indication by fire zone,
 System status to Local SCADA and F&G system,
 Audible and visual alarm device activation.
 HVAC system activation,
 Extinguishing system, and
 SCADA
Each local fire and gas HMl's shall be provided with the indication of the following information
as a minimum:

a. Status of each detector (ready, tripped, malfunction),
b. Alarm indication by fire zone,
c. % volume or LEL for fire & gas system (field device)
Contractor shall provide detector spare wiring and space for 25%.
Each protected area shall be provided with a local fire alarm.
11. EQUIPMENT COATING AND PAINTING
Detection devices, panels and other equipment and components shall be coated with
manufacturer’s standard painting or coating system suitable for the service and environmental
conditions.
Contractor shall provide a sufficient quantity of touch-up paint for field repair of equipment
coating or painting:
 Equipment supplied, where applicable shall be painted in accordance with “Specification
for Painting”, Document Number V32-C015-1472-EMC-PS-006.
 Manufacture’s standard painting system for the specified environment may be used, but
only with prior to Employer approval, providing that they are equal or exceeding the
requirement of the above specification.
 The gas clean extinguishing agent cylinders and carbon steel pipes shall be painted red
in accordance with Doc. No. V32-C015-1472-EMC-PS-006 “Specification for painting”.
12. INSPECTION
The responsibility for inspection and compliance with this specification rests with the
Contractor.
CONTRACTOR reserves the right to inspect materials, and to witness tests at any time.
VENDOR shall provide the required access for such inspections and test witnessing.
VENDOR shall not deliver the fire and safety system until it is inspected by CONTRACTOR.
CONTRACTOR reserve the right to waive tests.
 The responsibility for inspection rests solely with the VENDOR. CONTRACTOR
reserves the right to inspect the equipment at any time during its production or
installation and intends to witness and approve all field-testing.
 Upon completion of fabrication, VENDOR shall carry out a continuity and megger check
on all wiring, shall check the operation and calibration of all detectors and energization
of all equipment.
 When all of systems have been checked out the VENDOR shall simulate a gas agent

extinguisher discharge test using a substitute gas with similar properties to gas agent
extinguisher, however the gas shall not be of greenhouse gas. CONTRACTOR shall
approve substituted gas.
No production can commence until a written approval of all drawings, calculations, and
procedures have been received from CONTRACTOR.
VENDOR shall supply CONTRACTOR with a schedule of proposed inspection dates.
Observing, witnessing and/or acceptance of any inspection or test by CONTRACTOR do not
relieve the VENDOR of any guarantees.
VENDOR must submit inspection and testing procedures for CONTRACTOR approval at least
thirty (30) days in advance of implementing the procedure.
Manufacturing and fabrication shall not proceed until VENDOR’s material inspection
procedures have been approved by CONTRACTOR.
VENDOR shall supply CONTRACTOR with a complete set of latest detail drawings, which will
be used to assist in the inspection during the manufacturing, fabrication and testing of the
equipment.
13. TESTING

13.1 General
Contractor shall provide to Employer, not less than six weeks prior to the date of
commencement of the fire and gas system test, a detail schedule of the tests and sample test
record forms for approval. The tests shall not be undertaken until the test schedule and test
record forms are approved by Employer.
An operating and maintenance manual and final certified copy of "As-Built" drawings shall be
provided for the Employer exclusive use during final works testing and inspection.
Contractor shall provide Product Certificate of device and equipment supplied.
Contractor shall do integration test between Fire and Gas Local Control with Local SCADA
system during SIAT.
Piping for the gas extinguishing agent supply system shall be leakage check.
Integration test between F&G System and Local SCADA should be completed

13.2 Site Acceptance Test


Contractor shall certify the installation of the devices and equipment at the constructed site.
