• A "Public market" shall be understood to mean a place, building or structure of any kind
owned or operated by a city or municipality designated as such by the Sanggunian of that
city or municipality dedicated to the service of the general public, where basic food items
and other commodities are displayed and offered for sale. " Public Market" also includes
market stalls, tiendas, buildings, roads, subways, waterways, drainage, and parking spaces.
