The document provides an assessment of math skills for various levels of students, including levels D, F, and 1. It outlines objectives in the areas of number and algebra, and measurement and geometry. For each level, it lists specific math concepts and skills that students should understand or be able to do, such as counting objects, comparing sizes, telling time, and collecting and displaying data.

and Geometry- Assessment Semester 1 date
Level D Count and label number names up to ten and
Number and move objects as they are counted. Algebra Respond accurately to the question “How many?” and find a total after taking or adding one more item with numbers up to five. Identify the number of objects up to three by sight and count groups of objects to determine whether they are the same or different, largest or least. Copy and continue simple patterns Identify and sequence steps used in familiar games or events and follow a visual schedule. Level D Sort, compare and match familiar everyday Measurement objects by attributes for example colour, size and or function Geometry Exposed to data represented by photos, drawings, and everyday objects and identify which response is the largest/least. Level F Read and write numerals up to ten and read Number and some number words to ten. Algebra Match numerals to a group of objects. Estimate the size of a collection of up to ten objects, arranged randomly, without counting. Count to twenty and use simple addition strategies, including ‘count on’ and ‘count all’ to find the total of two collections. Sort objects and explain the basis on which they were sorted. Create patterns using objects or sounds. Level F Students compare familiar items according to Measurement their size and put them in order. and Develop an understanding of time, including Geometry ‘o’clock’ times, digital and analogue, days of the week and routine events and the days associated with them.
Answer ‘yes/no’ questions about objects,
events or themselves in relation to a data display. Level 1 Fluently count forwards and backwards to Number and one hundred from any starting point. Algebra Identify the number of tens and ones in two digit numbers and can read and match number words and numerals to twenty.
‘Count on’ up to three or more without
concrete materials or visuals. Use skip counting to identify number patterns. Use one to one correspondence to determine which of the two collections is the largest or if they are of equal size. Level 1 Explain time durations using months, weeks, Measurement days and hours. Tell time to the half hour on and analogue and digital clocks. Geometry Tell time to the half hour on analogue and digital clocks. Use everyday items to measure and order length, mass or capacity. Begin to choose simple questions for data collection.
