INTRODUCTION OF HARYANA
Haryana is a state in the Republic of India. It is the
birthplace of Hinduism. The main dialect spoken in
the area is Haryanvi. The area is 17,122 square miles
(44,350 square kilometres). It is larger
than Denmark but smaller than Estonia. In traditional
Indian geography it falls under the North
Indian zone
CULTURE

MUSIC : Haryana has its own unique


traditional folk music, folk dances, saang (folk
theatre), cinema ,belief system such as Jathera
(ancestral worship), and arts such as Phulkari
and Shisha embroidery.
Folk dances : Folk music and dances of
Haryana are based on satisfying cultural needs
of primarily agrarian and martial natures of
Haryanavi tribes.

WHEAT
Wheat is a grass widely cultivated for its
seed, a cereal grain that is a worldwide
staple food. Wheat is grown on more land
area than any other food crop (220.4
million hectares or 545 million acres,
2014) Wheat is an important source of
carbohydrates. Globally, it is the leading
source of vegetable proteins in human food
RICE
Rice is the staple food of over half
the world's population.
In 2022, world production of paddy
rice was 193.4 million tonnes.
The traditional method for
cultivating rice is flooding the fields
while, or after, setting the young
seedlings.
BAJRA
✘ Bajra popularly known as Pearl millet,
cattail millet or bulrush belongs to the
family Graminea. The crop has a wide
adaptability as it may grow under
different day lengths, temperature and
moisture stress. Bajra grows very well in
dry and warm climatic regions, and it is a
drought – tolerant crop that quite low
annual rainfall of 40 cm to 60 cm.
MUSTARD
✘ The mustard plant is any one of several plant
species in the genera Brassica and Sinapis in the
family Brassicaceae (the mustard family). Mustard
is the second most important and most prominent
winter oilseed crop of India. It is grown mainly in
the northern plains of India with some cultivated
area in the eastern geography as well Indian
mustard is grown in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh,
UP, Haryana and Gujarat also in some areas of
south like Andra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil
Nadu.
SUGARCANE
✘ Sugarcane is a most important cash crop of
India. It involves less risk and farmers are
assured up to some extent about return
even in adverse condition. Sugarcane
provides raw material for the second largest
agro-based industry after textile. Sugarcane
is grown in various states in subtropical and
tropical regions of the country.
COTTON
✘ Cottoncrops are soft, fluffy stable fiberthatis usedextensively inthe
textile industry. The fiberis made of almostpure cellulose andcontains
fewtraces of waxes, fats andwater.
✘ Cottonis one of the mostimportantcashcrops inIndiaanditplays a
crucial role inthe industrial andagricultural economy. Directcottonin
Indiaprovides directlivelihoodto 6millionfarmers andindirectly
employs about40-50millionpeople inits alliedprocesses suchas trade
andprocessing.
