 ABSTRACT

● This project ventures to explain the impact that video streaming technology and how the
video streaming service offered by Netflix have made an impact in today’s consumers as well
as the entertainment industry (television and movies).By taking Netflix as a case study I seek
to understand how the technology works and how it has turned into such a success among
users. The service offered by this website has re-shaped the way users consume media as
well as how the entertainment industry approaches its intended market. The Movie Database
(TMDb) is a popular user ed- itable database for movies and TV shows.We used TMDb
database for getting info about movies & tv shows.
 PROBLEM STATEMENT

Netflix has earned a well-deserved reputation as a pioneer and innovator in the home
movie industry. After more than ten years in business, Netflix is still in growth mode,
only just having turned the corner to profitability and still fending off challenges from
several heavyweight competitors.It has the advantage of an early start, a strong
distribution system, and customer loyalty. However even with tremendous success,
Netflix expenses exceed its revenues so the cash flows needs to be re-evaluated.

 HISTORY OF NETFLIX
Netflix is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service and
production company based in California. Founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc
Randolph in Scotts Valley, California, it offers a film and television series library through
distribution deals as well as its own productions, known as Netflix Originals.

As of September 2022, Netflix had 222 million subscribers worldwide, including 73.3
million in the United States and Canada; 73.0 million in Europe, the Middle East and
Africa, 39.6 million in Latin America and 34.8 million in the Asia-Pacific region.It is
available worldwide aside from Mainland China, Syria, North Korea, and Russia. Netflix
has played a prominent role in independent film distribution, and it is a member of the
Motion Picture Association (MPA).
 MOTIVATION

● Our main motivation for doing this minor project as Netflix clone because we the
humans spend most of our time by watching movies and tv series to get relaxed and
for having fun sometime.So by using various technologies we buildup this clone by
learning them which will be our great experience and we will explore ourselves.
 TECHNOLOGIES USED

1.react-React is a free and open-source front-end JavaScript library for building user interfaces based on
UI components. It is maintained by Meta and a community of individual developers and companies.
2. Firebase- Firebase Realtime Database is a cloud-hosted database that supports iOS, Android, Web, C++
and Unity platforms. Realtime means that any changes in data are reflected immediately across all
platforms and devices within milliseconds.
3. Expressjs-Express.js, or simply Express, is a back end web application framework for building RESTful
APIs with Node.js, released as free and open-source software under the MIT License. It is designed for
building web applications and APIs. It has been called the de facto standard server framework for
Node.js..
4. Nodejs-Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform, back-end JavaScript runtime environment that runs
on a JavaScript Engine and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser, which was designed to build
scalable network applications.

 FUTURE SCOPE & CONCLUSION

Here in this project;we show only the trailers.In future,it can be modified
by putting a feature of watching movies too..Then we can enjoy the
complete features of an actual Netflix. In this project,we worked on various
technologies like react,firebase,expressjs and nodejs.By these technologies
we can develop many applications and this Netflix clone is more or less
looks like an actual Netflix.
