 The combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group, or thing
from another
 A distinguishing feature or attribute, as of an individual, group, or category

NATURE VS. NURTURE

NATURE

 Is what you’ve inherited genetically


 You cannot control this
 Refers to all the genes and heredity factors that influence who we are starting from our
physical appearance to personality characteristics
 Our genetic determine our behaviour, our personality traits and abilities are in our
“nature”
 We genetically inherit physical traits from our parents, but we also inherit personality
traits, intelligence, and preferences

NURTURE

 Is your lifestyle, social situation and life experience: you can control these things to a
certain extent
 Refers to all environmental variables such how we raised, what are our social relationship
etc. that impact who we are including our habit and experiences
 Our environment upbringing and life experiences determine our behaviour. We are
“nurtured” to behave in certain ways.
 The household and city we grew up in, how we were raised by our parents, teachers, and
friends – these are environmental factors that determine who we are

HABIT

 The tendency towards an act that has become a repeated performance, relatively fixed,
consistent and easy to perform by an individual.
 A settled tendency or usual manner of behaviour, an acquired mode of behaviour that had
become nearly or completely involuntary
 Created by habituation, which is a process of conditioning whereby repeated triggers and
actions become automated
 Something that you do often and regularly, sometimes without knowing that you are
doing it
COMMON BAD HABITS:

 Nail biting
 Hair pulling or twirling
 Nose picking
 Cracking knuckles
 Compulsive shopping
 Being a know-it-all
 Eavesdropping
 Fidgeting
 Chronic lateness
 Chewing with mouth open
 Gossiping

 Whispering in front of other people

EXPERIENCE

 It is the knowledge or mastery of an event or subject gained through involvement or


exposure to it
 The knowledge and skill that you have gained through doing something for a period of
time.

 Physical: Physical Properties


 Mental: Mind
 Emotional: Emotion
 Spiritual: Religious experience
 Social: Socialization
 Virtual and simulation
WORKING ON A COMPUTER, WATCHING TV

 When you do it one or two hours it’s not bad. You can get a lot of new information, it
helps to do your homework etc. But when it’s too much it damages you. First of all it’s
bad for your eyes, brain, and nerves system. Other result you sight becomes worth, you
can’t sleep well and so on.

INACTIVE WAY OF LIFE

 You forget to do exercises every morning, you do not go in for sport, you go by a car or
transport instead of working. It means you ruin your health, your muscles don’t work,
your weight becomes more and more, your sleep is bad. Stop doing it and start to move.

EXCHANGING OF YOUR CLOTHES WITH YOUR FRIENDS

 Of course it is not hygienic. You can get some infections, contagious or skin diseases,
