CA - Brass Cage
• Suitable for tough operating conditions with high
speeds, shock loads and contamination.
• Cage design minimizes resonance with deforming
capacity.
• Self lubricating properties of cage material, and re-
duced friction at high speed.
• Cage and ring design prevents components from
seizing in case of thermal expansion.
• Hard wearing; cage material supports impact and

CC - Steel Cage
• Suitable for all general applications.
• No limit to operating temperature.
• Accurate cage centering achieves precise roller gui-
dance.
• Specially designed inner ring raceways and large roll-
ing elements.
• Two piece hardened steel cage allows a certain
degree of misalignment.
CF - High Vibration
• Very high strength and anti vibration characteristics
for high performance applications.
• No limit to operating temperature
• The cage design increases lubricant reserves in the
bearing and facilitates its flow.
• Two piece hardened steel cage allows a certain degree of

• Lateral shoulder machined into inner ring improves
self alignment properties and prevents rollers ejecting

Features & Benefits
High Precision
Manufactured according to P6 (ISO 492) tolerance class for
running accuracy, minimum friction.
Heat Treatment
Digitally controlled atmospherically protected heat treatment
to improve crack sensitivity and bear heavy loads. A number
of heat treatment procedures are applied including Bainite and
Case Carburizing.
Chromium Steel
AKG Spherical Roller Bearing steel provides crack sen-
sitivity and are designed to absorb shock loads that are
common in heavy industrial applications. Made with
clean vacuum degassed DIN100Cr6 or DIN100CrMn6
high carbon chromium steel.
Quality Control
Bearings are subject to a stringent and documented quality
inspection process. Batch number marked on each bearing to
allow complete traceability.
Clean Room Facilities
Atmospherically controlled; utilized for testing, final inspection
and packaging to securely maintain the high quality of AKG
Precision Bearings products.
Lubrication
Available with an oil groove and holes in the outer ring for relu-
brication. Raceway and cage designs promote lubrication film
formation increasing operating life up to two times the industry
standard spherical roller bearings.
Maintenance Recommendations
1. Ensure shaft alignment, as misalignment generates loads and vibrations that cause premature failure.
2. A periodic inspection process is required to detect developing failures. A series of indicators must be set including noise level,
lubrication, bearing temperature, etc…
3. Grease/oil can be introduced via the groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring. The bearing must turn during lubrication to
obtain optimal grease distribution. The same grease/oil must be used for first and subsequent lubrication.
4. Regreasing is recommended to be made underneath the cage, and between and underneath the rollers. Rotate the rollers until
the grease appears at the upper part, this will ensure an adequate lubricant film between rollers and raceway.
5. Whether the bearing is installed with an adapter or a withdrawal sleeve, it is vital to check that the residual internal radial clearance
remains sufficient after tightening the nut (see AKG catalogue for details).
