to suit specific applications. An attractive combination of design
features make them irreplaceable in many demanding applications.
Tapered Roller Bearings use conical rollers that are arranged along
a tapered raceway. The rollers are guided by a flange on the cone
which prevents the roller from ejecting at high speed due to their
momentum.
AKG Tapered Roller Bearings have been developed to accommodate
higher load ratings, misalignment and shock loads.
High Precision
Manufactured according to P0 (ISO 492) tolerance class
for running accuracy, minimum friction.
Heat Treatment
Digitally controlled atmospherically protected heat treatment
to improve crack sensitivity and bear heavy loads. A number
of heat treatment procedures are applied including Bainite and
Case Carburizing.

Mounting Recommendations
1. Mounting should be undertaken in clean, dry, dust free conditions.
2. Wipe the preservative from the bore and outside diameter of bearing.
3. If the bearing is grease lubricated or grease is not compatible with preservative, it is necessary to wash and carefully dry the bearing.
4. Each component (housing, shaft, etc.) must be carefully cleaned and checked for burrs.
5. Whenever possible roller bearings should be mounted onto the shaft in a vertical position. The suitable mounting procedure and equipment must be selected to
ensure bearings are not damaged during mounting.
6. Pushing along the shaft to its support and hold the bearing in position until it grips. Check that the shaft and outer ring can be rotated without any disturbances.
7. Care must be taken when locking the bearing to ensure all rolling elements are seated properly; this is achieved by rotating at periodic intervals during locking.
8. The clearance of Tapered Roller Bearings is adjustable and needs to be set during mounting. This is done by adjusting the axial location of the cone or cup. Care
must be taken to adjust to the correct clearance for the particular application.
