ANSWERS:

1. Yes. In some cases arrange marriage still happened especially in elite families or in the
culture with the same tradition of marrying someone according to family’s agreement.
2. Yes, since it was said to be a tradition, she might as well not very ignorant of how it
works and how it should be done.
3. No force happened because it was all settled. The only case for the girl is, she doesn’t
know the guy yet. But still, she didn’t brag a petition or some sort. The most powerful
in the example is of course the father, it was a literally a traditional patriarchy family so
it wasn’t a surprise if the father holds the prestige.
4. Social power. The father shows dominance and authorities in this case, well no doubt,
the father holds the power anyway.
5. While the daughter submits to whatever the father or the family wants her to settle with
as if she had no choice but to let them decide for her future. More so it was Age-related
power.
6. Power is something that is connected to superiority and the father is a representation of
someone who has a power to command about something, while the daughter is what
we called the subordinate or the one with less power.
ANSWERS:

1. Yes, actually there are instances that this situation could happen in some school
universities, perhaps it’s a phenomenological issue that many of us think.
2. No, unfortunately the case 2 shows the acts of gender-based violence where the professor
used some kind of force to get her or to agree of what he wish to happen.
3. The kind of power the professor have is the social power.
4. The student actually don’t have the power but in this case it still can fall under the age-
related power.
5. Power can be sometimes abuse by someone who wanted to take advantage it. The one
with authority or position that creates a gender based violence.
