Turkish Negation
Learning the Turkish Negation displayed below is vital to the language. Turkish negation is the process that turns an affirmative statement (I am happy) into its
opposite denial (I am not happy).
Grammar Tips:
In Turkish,
negation can be made by adding suffix “–me, (-ma)” to the end of a
verb. We use negation suffixes after the verb but before the time suffixes. If
you
want to make a noun negative, you must use “değil” at the end of the
sentence.
Examples:
O
gelecek yıl Lonra’ya gitmeyecek. means He/She wont’t go to London next
year.
Şu öğrenci benim öğrencim değil. means That student
isn’t my student.
