ANALYSIS ON VISION, MISSION & VALUES:

Whatever I observed throughout the 6 Weeks of my

Internship at Alamgir Welfare Trust International was that the
Management has kept the Vision and Mission as the guiding
principle for the prosperity of the Organization. What I have
seen there after watching the activities and talking to the
staff members which is actually the success of Alamgir
Welfare Trust’s pioneers that they got are successful in
transformation of Values and Vision into the grass root level
worker of the organization. This is the fact that even the
sweeper working at Alamgir Welfare Trust knows what
customs and traditions organization follows and what he
needs to do in order to be the responsible part of Trust.

Whereas Every Initiative / Project of the Organization is

directly or indirectly associated with the vision of serving the
underprivileged class of Pakistan and to become their Voice

DAILY REPORT
Day 1 (Rashan Department):

We learnt about the system of Rashan Distribution initiated by Alamgir Welfare

Trust International. We also learnt about the classifications and categorizations of
the Rashan as per the policy of Alamgir Welfare Trust International. Most
Important part of the day was to observe the procedure from the preparation of
application till the final approval of trustees and donors. Another unrest which
was essential that Alamgir Welfare Trust not only provide Rashan to the externals
even to the employees and to the staff of the trust as per their need. Throughout
the day we participated in the activities with the department lead by Mr. Zafar.
Activities includes Packing of Daals , Chawal and etc. , Handing over of Rashan Bag
to people and also entertained the people who were interested in becoming the
part of Rashan Assistance Program of Alamgir Welfare Trust. At the later part of
the day I also worked on the Microsoft Excel for Data entry. I also tried to talk to
several people who were coming to the department for different purposes in
order to measure their level of satisfaction and performance of the department
whereas results were as follow:

Rashan Department
Dissatisfied
15%

Satisfied
85%

Day 2 & 3 (Ahraam House):

One of the most unique offering of Alamgir Welfare Trust International is its
Ahraam House where Alamgir Trust is trying to serve the people with the
motive of Hajj and Umrah Assistance. Alamgir Welfare Trust offers the
variety and quality merchandise at very standardized rates and also
present Gift box as the compliment to the performing of Religious Duty.
Due to the season of Hajj there was lot of work at the Ahraam House where
we packed approximately 800+ Boxes of Gift for the people who visits the
Ahraam House for the different purposes. Gift Box comprise of necessary
items which are required during travelling (Needle, thread, hand wash,
Miswak, Toothpaste and Brush). Other than this I got the opportunity to
observe the mechanism of buying and selling at Ahraam House where
general public were the beneficiary and while working on the Ahraam
House I had the noble feelings of Religious Obligation. One of the Key
Learning there was to work under the environment where we have to come
out of comfort zone and do some struggle which really gave the lesson of
being adaptable. I also did some research about the claim of Alamgir
Welfare Trust International about subsidized prices and here are the
findings of the research:

Ahraam House

Day 4 (Cooked Food):

One of the finest experiences of internship was to work on the roads for the
packing of Cooked Food for the people who deserves it at the hospitals of
Civil, Jinnah & N.I.C.D. Alamgir Welfare Trust International provides food to
the 1000+ people on the daily basis in order to work towards the
elimination of poverty and to as the teaching of Sunnat. Key learning of the
day was to pack Naan in Shoppers and to Prepare packets of Qorma for
the each shopper then loading off to the different vehicles so they can take
it to the hospitals. I think the way Alamgir Trust has managed its project is
tremendous because they are working on the idea of Dastarkhuwan with
the vision broader vision and sense of social responsibility. On the day we
prepared 300+ packets of Cooked Food which was one of the unique
experience of working on roads. The provided food was prepared by
keeping in mind the healthy food standards. Example of Food Menu is:

 Biryani
 Qourma (Beef / Mutton)
 Nihari

Day 5 (Marriage Assistance Department):

Alamgir Welfare Trust International is the diversified Organization working

into different sectors for the upliftment of the society. Alamgir Trust follows
the certain procedure for the Marriage Assistance in order to help out the
several cases through different packages. I got the opportunity to be at
Marriage Assistance Office during my internship where our departmental
head briefed us about the office work, documentations and each and every
step followed. What I liked most about the department was the
transparency of the Inquiry committee and its prompt decision making.
Although one of the greatest learning was to interview several new cases
who actually wanted to apply for the assistance even though observing the
several discrepancies on the case to case basis was unrest. Whereas we
also asked some questions from the applicant in order to get the insights
about the Marriage assistance program but the results were surprising as
More than 78% Cases we Dealt were having delight about the way staff of
Alamgir Welfare Dealt them & out of 5 Mean score of Satisfaction was
4.25.

Day 6 (Education Assistance Department):

Alamgir Welfare Trust International also focuses upon the continuation of

Education to the ones who are underprivileged whereas Trust provides
fees assistance not only to the externals even to the staff members as well
so they can also be benefited with the tool of Education. I learnt about the
complete procedure from filling of an application along with grade sheet till
the decision of committee for the fees. At Education Office we also
prepared the PowerPoint Presentation on the topic of “Importance of
Plantation & Tree” as the part of teaching methodologies where through the
use of creativity and skills we tried to develop such a dilemma that can
attract the young minds and persuade them to grow the trees so you can
get the return from that greenery. Well other than this I observed the the
way staff was dealing the old and new cases who were there at Alamgir
Welfare Trust International with lots of hope and The way Staff was dealing
everything was surely an example of how to respect and love humanity. As
per my observations and remarks of the applicants I would give the
department

Day 7 & 8 (Transcript):

At Alamgir Welfare Trust International We were assigned the responsibility

along with researching on it very deep. We had the audio that was linked to
“Psychography & Mental States”. We typed the complete script and
submitted to the Supervisor Mr. Nisar (Assistant Trustee, Alamgir Welfare
Trust International). On that day I realized some practical importance of
Arts related subjects in context of Human Behavior when we researched
and we were doing that for the particular context. One of the key points
of that research was the contribution of Muslims Pioneers towards the
particular discourse.

Day 9 (Alamgir Institute of Engineering & Technology):

Alamgir Welfare Trust International also emphasizes on the charm of

Informational and Technology through the offerings of different short
courses. These courses are offered at the minimal rates whereas Laptops
are also distributed on the basis of Merit. Mr. Moonis Shakil (Head of
Department) also authorized us to visit the internal system and Curriculum
of the Institute in order to revise it. What I learnt from there was Recording
of Merchandise as well as Maintenance of Petty Cash. It was surely great
learning to observe the mechanism which is working far away from Head
office Located at Korangi but connected with Head office 24/7. One more
lesson I brought from there was in several cases when head office is far or
distanced Head of Department need to response Proactively in accordance
with the guidelines provided by the Organization, Whereas I also liked the
concept of Empowering the Youngsters of the Nation with the tool of Skills
so employment opportunities can be created and it can also help in
upliftment of society from the poverty.

Alamgir Welfare Trust International) through which Alamgir Welfare Trust is
providing free of cost diversified variety of books to the ones who need it.
These books can be seen online and ordered without any complication
through their website. I got the opportunity to observe the complete
mechanism of Uploading of Book till the Final Delivery Voucher.
Alhamdolillah I uploaded more than 50 books on their website and also
ordered the Book as testimonial and it worked within seconds. I also
researched about their services on the internet in terms of Delivery and
Availability of Books so the results were surprisingly 68% with satisfactory
performance.

Day 11 (Alamgir Health Care Center):

What I liked most about the Health Care Center of Alamgir Welfare Trust
International was the quick and immediate action within a day for medical
treatment and diagnosis. I got the opportunity to interview few cases at
Medical center where more approximately 100% patients responded that
they are overwhelmingly satisfied with the services and caliber of doctors
provided by Alamgir Welfare. Even one of the old aunt (belonged to
Sargodha) mentioned that she came for the medical treatment of her and
her family members from South Punjab but still she got the best treatment
at the panel hospital of Alamgir Welfare Trust International and even Trust
also supports the person for the medicines and follow up after the
Operation or Surgery. One of the Finest thing about Health Care Center
was they deal the case of the day on the same day rather than delaying or
giving appointment that could create the trouble for patients.

KUMAIL RAZA (F18BBA05) | 20

thalassemia (From Screening till last drop of Drip). AMTF also extend its
services for quality medical treatment and to earn from it so it could be
spent on the ones who deserve. In short Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia

meet with Mr, Khaliq-Uz-Zaman (Project Director, AMTF) where he briefed
me about the difficulties Foundation faced whereas I also assured him my
complete cooperation in terms of Organizing Blood Camp and Linking them
with such Organization to work as consortium. Interns from Alamgir Welfare

Thalassemia. AMTF also distributed the Discount Cards to the Interns for
the services they are providing.

cause and permitted me to shoot the documentary that would be containing
the progress and achievements of the different departments of Alamgir
Welfare and How it is changing the lives of the People and Impacting the
Pakistan. I worked with the team to capture such moments and interviews
and still working on it so we could display the philanthropic work of Alamgir

Poverty and Working for the upliftment of the society on the auspicious

I Joined their team on the 2nd Day of Eid and Observed the complete
system that how tokens are distributed without any discrimination and then
how Staff worked hard to achieved the target set by the Pioneers of the
Organization. One of the most fascinating things about the Distribution was
that Mr. Rehan Yaseen (Director Finance) was himself involved along with
the Board of Directors to monitor the whole process. I also took all of the
process On Facebook Live to promote the work initiated by Alamgir
Welfare Trust.

WEEKLY REPORT

WEEK # 1:

First Week of Internship at Alamgir Welfare Trust International was one of

the practical experiences of Life and at start It was like beginning of the
new endeavor. Well, I learnt about the several things in the First Week
specially I would like to emphasize upon the system and Mechanism of
Rashan Distribution that how to run and maintain such a big system without
making a single error. Practically Speaking Best part of learning for me was
working on the Database and Urdu Inpage for the Entry of Applicants and
to maintain monthly record of previous Applicants. Working at Ahraam
house was another priceless experience of Life because settling yourself in
an environment which was pushing towards coming out of Comfort Zone
was great learning even some of the team members were like that they
were sent out of Karachi for some work but in reality that packaging at
Ahraam House gave me spiritual sense of Religious Duty as well Whereas
Networking while doing packing gave the greater opportunity of networking
with students of different universities.

KUMAIL RAZA (F18BBA05) | 24

WEEK # 2:

Second Week of Internship at Alamgir Welfare Trust International gave the

great sense of learning as we worked for the Cooked Food Department
where I packed the Naan and Qoorma into the packets for the people who
came from interior and other parts of Country at Different Hospitals.
Packing the food of 1000+ People was very unique experience. Whereas In
the same week working for the Marriage assistance department also taught
me many things that how to work as the part of verification committee. How
to rectify the chances of error while dealing with the procedure of Jahez
and Marriage realistically. Alamgir Welfare Trust in real gave the broader
sense of working with the community and allowing dealing and
communicating. In the 2nd Week of Internship I also got the opportunity to
work at the Education Department of Alamgir Welfare Trust where we also
prepared the presentation for Public Awareness (Importance of Plantation)
and also dealt with the new cases of Education Fees Assistance.

KUMAIL RAZA (F18BBA05) | 25

WEEK # 3:

At the Third Week of Alamgir Welfare Trust We worked upon the audio that
was related to the Experimental Psychology. Where we changed the audio
into the script and then we researched for the further contribution of people
throughout the world on the particular discourse then we also researched
about the contribution of Muslims as Pioneers of the century. One Thing I
learnt through all of this process was to research for something by having a
bit clue. Whereas at the last part of the Week number 3, we had the stem
visit of Alamgir Institute of Technology and Engineering where we met with
the Mr. Moonis Shakil and I observed the complete system and here I
realized the importance of Centralized and Decentralized system of
Management and I also learnt how Leadership plays the vital role when
head office is distanced from the Other Department.

KUMAIL RAZA (F18BBA05) | 26

WEEK # 4:

In the 4th Week of Internship at Alamgir Welfare Trust I got the opportunity
to work for the one of the unique offering of Alamgir to the education sector
and that was Alamgir Book Bank where we were briefed about the
complete system of Coding and Web Development behind the Website of
Online Portal and then I uploaded more than 50 Books over there so that
was kind of good experience. Then in the same week went through one of
the painful experience of my life when I was placed at Alamgir Health Care
Center where We Observed some of the cases which were nearly to be
dead but Alamgir Welfare Trust became the voice of such people and for
the very first time I felt the pain patients from Southern Punjab. Whereas
we also visited the Afzaal Memorial Trust where I met with the Project
Director Mr. Khaliq-Uz-Zaman who also assured his support towards the
promotion of noble activities in encountering with the gigantic problem of
Thalassemia from Pakistan so that tour ultimately provided the platform for
networking for me.

FINAL REPORT

Internship at Alamgir Welfare Trust International was one of the most

memorable experiences of my Life where I actually learnt about the
application of several things which are directly or indirectly related to the
management. Although working for the Non-Profit Organization and
Observing as the Management Student was priceless. What I believed
since early age that we should own our Community, City and State so this
motivated me to go into the depth of Organization and to explore more in
every context so I could get more learning and practical outcome out of it.

From Academic Point of View several theories which we learnt before I

witnessed the true implication whereas personal grooming and skill
enhancement also took place by working in an environment that was not
familiar and there were lots of hurdles as well but here I got to learn about
the actual sense of Resource Management.

Alamgir Welfare Trust International provided me a platform to work on the

diversified projects on the wider range at the mean time. Internship
Opportunity as student of Barrett Hodgson University opened the doors of
networking for me with the students of different universities (Institute of
Business Administration, F.A.S.T, Shaheed Zulifikar Ali Bhutto Institute of
Science and Technology), different social activists (Mr. Shakeel Dehelvi,
Mr. Chandna, Mr. Rehan Yaseen and etc.) and People from different
sectors of life. These contacts will further help me in patronizing of my work
and skills

KUMAIL RAZA (F18BBA05) | 28

Internship opportunity also provided me the baseline for making myself
ready for the job market. I got to know about several decorum other than
academics that are needed for the practical life such as Filing,
Documentation and etc.

At last I want to conclude this whole chapter of my life into a paragraph that
I would always term the experience of working at Alamgir Welfare Trust as
the Golden Term not because of having pleasant experience only because
of we were scolded for the wrong and appreciated for the good (Learning
Continued) and It gave me a lot to remember and to follow into my practical
and personal life whereas I would definitely say that organizations needs
improvement so Alamgir Welfare Trust also needs to work on the
departmental structure for the better and efficient systemic delivery to the
mankind.
