the story of Hamlet is set in the royal castle of Elsinore, a city in Denmark.

Denmark has only been dead for two months and her mother, Gertrude, has already married his brother-in-
law, Claudius, who has now become king.
Act I
A ghost similar to Hamlet's deceased father shows up in front of Hamlet and tells him that he has been
poisoned and killed by Claudius. He asks Hamlet to avenge him.
Act II
Hamlet pretends to be mad in order to carry out his plans of revenge more easily. Polonius, the king's advisor,
thinks that Hamlet's madness is caused by love for his daughter, Ophelia. Hamlet summons a troupe of
actors to perform a play whose story is similar to that revealed by the ghost.
Act III
Hamlet delivers his famous soliloquy "To be or not to be". When the show is presented King Claudius gets up
and rushes away. Hamlet goes to his mother's bedroom and kills Polonius who overheard their conversation.
Act IV
Hamlet is sent to England to be killed. Ofelia goes mad and drowns. Her brother Laertes wants revenge and
the king, after receiving the news that Hamlet escaped, plots his death in a duel with Laertes.
Act V
Hamlet presents himself to the duel but the king had poisoned Laertes' sword and after an accidental
exchange of swords Hamlet wounds and kills the king and Laertes. In the meantime, before dying, the king
makes Hamlet's mother drink the poison, who dies soon after. Subsequently, however, Hamlet also dies,
wounded by Laertes with the poisoned sword.
