Dear John,

Congratulations finally on graduation! The best wishes for your father and
congratulations for your mother, or is it the other way around? However, I apologize to
you and your parents because I cannot be on your big day.

I really want to attend your graduation, but unfortunately, I was advised not to get on a
plane by my doctor - it was not at all safe for my current situation, not even for my best
friend. Even though it's sad, I think you will agree that ensuring your graduation for

I really wish I could be there for you. I'm sure you are the happiest person on the planet
