Site Planning * The Site Engineer and Supervisor shall ensure that necessary materials, complete tools and materials are to be available at site prior to the commencement of works. + Lightning protection, Earthing and bonding materials shall be inspected upon delivery to site. Material Inspection form shall be raised and submitted to consultant for inspection. + Lightning protection, Earthing and bonding materials shall be protected from sunlight & moisture by covering them with tarpaulin. Materials shall be properly supported and stacked on a flat surface, properly in neat orderly manner. 5, Methodology Lightning protection, Earthing, Bonding and material shall be installed as per approved shop Drawings and as per Specialist/Manufacturer recommendation (who would have already endorsed the relevant shop drawings). Manufacturer recommendations and manual instructions shall be strictly adhered to during the installation of system. 5.1. Site Delivery, Storage & Handling of Materials. + Use correct type and capacity of transfer equipment, such as Fork lft from workshop {store to site location for proper Loading/otfioading shall be carefully handled * Coordinate in advance with the Safety and Construction Departments for the Mobilization of materials to the designated location. * Site team will check delivered material and QA/QC team will verify. * All materials and cables shall be carefully handled to avoid any damage. * Ensure to provide adequate warning signs and safety barriers within working area, * Ensure that only trained workers will perform the manual handling activities, * Ensure the workers use proper protection PPE (Safety Helmet, shoes, Hand gloves, Goggles etc.) during handling materials. * Store keeper will keep all materials delivered and store them properly, tagged in an organized manner + Materials shall be properly supported and stacked on flat surface to prevent bending, wrapping and deforming * Materials shall be protected from sunlight and moisture by covering them using tarpaulin / any equivalent protection materials. * Upon receiving any material in the stores, Storekeeper shall visually inspect the received material and then inform the QC Engineer/Inspector. * QC Engineer/inspector will inspect the delivered material to verify its compliance with the approved material submittals and all project requirements, * Material Inspection Request (INR) shall be raised by QC department upon satisfactorily inspection of the delivered material in the store. * INR will be submitted to Consultant for inspection and approval of the delivered materials. * In case of non-conforming situation, materials shall be segregated/quarantined and properly identified until an adequate action is taken e020 ae a ES TEE ERA Rev.00 20-Jun-2020 Page 7 of 18 WRONG Wan A mae 6) (bet) USE BISIRAS) epEHERIE CHA RemLWay tr aUREAU GxoU Co Lim SS 5.2. Level of Protection - 111, RA225, '$D205-H, RA6DO) on the TOP of the Pylon as per the location shown on the Approved shop Drawings. + Installation of Tinned Copper Tape (25x3mm) (TC030, CP210-H) which has to be connected from Bottom of the Air terminal to the Dedicated Down conductor (2no's 40mm Rebar shall be considered as per the Approved Drawing). The interconnection between the tinned copper tape and down conductor shall be made with the Copper Clamps (work shall be executed as per the Details shown on the Approved Shop Drawings. ‘+ Installation of Copper tape shall be done as per approved location and approved shop drawing and should be fixed through suitable clipsicamps. + Structural Bonding Shall be done as per typical detail in the approved drawing. + In'no circumstances shall lightning protection earth rods be connected to any Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA ", Earthing electrode. A minimum distance of separation of 7 meters shall be provided in every case between lightening earth electrodes and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA‘, earth electrode. Lightening protection will be carried out in accordance with BS EN 62305- 1:2011 (Protection against lightning). 5.3.1.3. A minimum of two 40 mm re-enforcing bars shall be used as down conductors in each column, The minimum overlap dimension to connect two re- bars (using arc welding) shall be at least 20 times the diameter of the re-bar. Re- enforcement bars in the designated columns should be used as down conductors, with a suitable junction box to be recessed at approx. 500mm above the ground for the test link. The electrical continuity of the reinforcing bars shall be determined by electrical testing between the uppermost part and the ground level. Lightning protection, Earthing and Bonding system 5.3.2.1. Performance objectives * The Earthing system shall include material as per approved drawing and material submittal ike earth electrodes to provide connection to the general body of the earth and all conductors and connections to all electrical equipment and metallic structures to site, The earth electrodes shall limit the potential rise under fault conditions and buried conductors shall be provided to limit potential differences on the site and adjacent to the site to ensure safety to people and animals. * Provide an equi-potential platform on which electronic equipment can operate. 5.3.2.2, Workmanship * Site Engineer shall study, counter check and ensure that the requirements of system materials. * Site supervisor will take-off material lists along with measurements, equipment, tools and manpower. * Prior to start the installation, refer the approved shop drawings of latest revision related to the area of installation and ensure the required material is available at site as per approved material submittal * Foreman and team should measure and mark the location on site as indicated in drawing * Install the Earthing System cable and complete the Earthing connections as per approved Shop Drawings. * Earth bar will be provided inside the earth pits as per approved Shop Drawings 5.3.2.3.
