A worldwide innovation leader in fans and motors, ebm-papst has embarked on a technology
transformation to build a global intranet and digital platform. Moving away from the current heterogeneous
intranets, this project is undertaken for the launch of a centralized intranet. The vision behind the
endeavor is to bring global ebm-papst units closer to headquarters, foster an internal identification and
provide tangible benefit to ebm-papst operations; with significant focus on sales enablement. The new
intranet serves the need of a multi-channel, multi-locale and multi-lingual application which is sustainable,
future-proof, flexible, uniform yet personalized solution for ebm-papst group.

Project Description

SOMNIO is the content generation system used by the marketing team to create digital content for the
approved offers. It generates metadata and content descriptor files (XMLs) to be consumed by RTO (Real
Time Offer) engine. The offer contents and its images are downloaded as zip file from SOMNIO and
deployed through TFS to CDN web server to consume by different downstream applications.

 Developed various components involved in creating Editable Templates and authoring.
 Creating java servlets that generates offer pages programmatically reading from RTO database,
showing offers list, copying offers to other offers.
