Sampling distribution

Probability sampling is a sampling method in which the

sample is selected from a population using the process of
randomisation.

Randomisation is a process used while selecting a sample

wherein all units of the population have an equal chance of
being selected.

Sampling distribution is a statistical distribution created by

drawing multiple samples from the same population.

In a particular sample of 100 subjects,

there are 52 women and 48 men.

In another sample drawn from the

same population, there 50 women

and 50 men.

In yet another sample from the same

population, there are 49 women and

51 men.

Which one accurately represents the

population?
CENTRAL LIMIT
THEORY
This mathematical theory states that when many random samples

are drawn from the same population, a normal distribution is formed,

and the center of the distribution represents the parameter of the

population for the variable being measured.

After the population parameter is identified, the central limit theory

also lets us measure how representative a particular sample is of the

entire population by comparing it with reference to the parameter.

Confidence intervals

A set of values, usually ranging from a little higher and lower than a

specific value found in a sample, within which the researcher has a

specific and high degree of confidence that the population

parameter lies.
