Our teacher in one of our subjects gave us a collaborative task.

We were instructed to
act as travel and tour agents, and we were assigned to encourage our prospect clients, our
classmates in that case, to join our offered tour featuring our own choice of tourist destinations
in the country. I was assigned as a leader and it is my responsibility to gather my groupmates to
talk about the task and reach into a consensus of our designated roles. A week is given to us to
prepare and present it in front of the class. It has been a hard week for us since that time is
when we celebrate the school’s founding anniversary and we felt like we are not committed to
do any academic task instead, we are bound to enjoy the extracurricular activities and join
events and programs to enjoy. Week has passed, and came the day of the presentation.
Unexpectedly, none of the groups of our section except our group was able to do the task and
present. So, this is what happened, the other groups are convincing me not to present ours just
because they were not able to do it. As a leader of the group, who have accumulated efforts
from the members did not want to put what we have accomplished to waste. The guts and
pressure in my mind urged to me have it presented. Obviously, some of my classmates got mad
because of my initiation, but I just disregarded it because what matters to me is that I’ve not
neglected my groupmates and did what I have supposedly do. What happened after it is another
story, due to the mix emotions of our teacher, he gave us a perfect 100 for that activity with
bonus to exemption from examination. It was really unexpected, and my members are like
floating on cloud nine with what they’ve heard. The rest of the groups however, was given
another chance to present but were not promised of exemptions from examinations. To some of
you, you might think that it’s an act of selfishness while to others and from my experience, it was
an act of courage and doing what you believe in regardless of what would people say about
you. It was something I never regret that I did.
