A Surveillance system of CCTV cameras and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) gives a user the
ability to review footage that has been recorded, but how practical is a surveillance system if it is
only of use after the event?

Studies have shown :-

CCTV In an empty scene
•CCTV surveillance systems are limited without added intelligence.
•Watching only 2 monitors an operator misses 45% of action after 10 minutes
•After 22 minutes misses 95% of action
•In a busy scene CCTV can see even less action
•CCTV can never detect a stationary or missing object.

Jump to Event enables

•The user to jump back to a pre-defined time before an event or alarm occurred

review both the event and the preceeding period of video footage

•The user then has the option of archiving the event for later review or to discard the alarm
information

•Incorporate event-based recording, only storing video footage when there is something to
