Answer the following questions.

1. Consider the functions from the set of customers in an online store. For each part, is the function one-to-

2. How many different security codes of length 4 can be applied on a security lock, when: [8]
a) A digit cannot occur twice in a code.

4. Suppose that a particular fabric of t-shirts is available for both men and women. The man’s t-shirt comes
in sizes Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large, and the woman’s t-shirt comes in sizes Medium,
Small, X-Small, and XX-Small. The man’s t-shirt comes in beige and black, while the woman’s t-shirt comes
in white, red, and black. [6]
a) Use a tree diagram to determine the number of different t-shirts that a store has to stock to have at
least one t-shirt of every type i.e. for all available sizes and colors for both men and women.
b) Use a tree diagram to determine the number of different t-shirts that a store has to stock to not
include all red-colored t-shirts, all medium-sized shirts, and all small-sized black-colored shirts for both
men and women.
