Introduction

This article explores three corporate level techniques and provides examples from the actual
world, which may be drawn from my professional and personal experiences or web research.
The Strategies at the Corporate Level
A business-level strategy specifically explains the steps a corporation takes to obtain a workable
advantage via the collection and management of a diversified group of establishments that
attempt to compete in various product markets. Company-level strategies help organizations
pursue new planned positions that are aimed at increasing their worth. Many businesses adopt
corporate-level strategies to help them increase their revenue and profits, but they may also be
working toward other predetermined goals. Additionally, before devoting the company's
resources to any expansion chances, a successful business may assess them all thoroughly.
Accordingly, the company strategy aims to address these two major issues: how the numerous
firms' head offices must oversee those businesses and where the company must compete in terms
of product markets and its affiliated organization. The need for a company-level strategy is
emphasized by these specific justifications. (ŞEker, 2021). Each establishment's strategy may be
divided into three categories: development plans, attention strategies, and cost-cutting strategies
(Toluwalope, 2016).
Strategic Growth
Company strategies, as the name implies, are a variety of plans implemented at the corporate
level that help to boost important metrics like sales/revenue, total assets, productivity, etc. It is
possible to assume a development strategy that is based on internal variables and may be done
through a number of internal economies of scale in light of the rise in activities both locally and
globally. Along with the previously mentioned internal development opportunities that were
outlined, a corporation may also expand outside through well planned mergers, purchases, and
important carefully planned collaborations (Toluwalope. 2016).
Concentration Techniques
Companies that manufacture several product lines with numerous development opportunities are
more likely to choose this type of strategy. The corporation must allocate more finances to the
particular product line if it hopes to expand its participation in the produce value chain
(Toluwalope, 2016).
Reduction Techniques
This tactical shift is implemented when a company’s product lines are having trouble due to
weak competition or a general decrease in the market or the industry. The strategy aims to
improve the performance of the business by addressing a number of constraints that keep it from
realizing its full potential (Toluwalope, 2016).
A Real World Example
Expanding the company's product line, which now includes home computers, personal
computers, mobile phones, a variety of music shops, and other applications, at a very reasonable
and high level is one of Apple's corporate objectives. Additionally, the company has a very high
level of integration between the theater and the personal computers they create. As a result, it can
produce goods more efficiently and distribute them more widely while still being very profitable.
Customers may receive their preferred specific items with high eminence and prodigious design
standards thanks to this divergence strategy because all Apple products are somehow connected
and run on the same type of operating system (Business-Level and Corporate-Level Strategies in
Apple, 2021).
