Lately drugs have become a serious problem in any part of the world. Many
drug cases are difficult to resolve. Narcotics (Narcotics, Psychotropics and other
dangerous Addictive Substances) are substances which, if entered into the human body,
either by drinking, inhaling or injection, can change a person's thoughts, moods or
feelings and behavior. This can have a negative impact on the development of the
nation's generation
in Law no. 22 of 1997, the definition of narcotics is substances or drugs derived
from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semi-synthetic. These substances cause a
decrease or change in consciousness, eliminate feeling, reduce to eliminate pain, and
can cause dependence. that's why this drug is prohibited for public use and needs strict
supervision. Currently, drugs have mushroomed in the youth environment. This is truly
a dangerous threat to the Indonesian nation. according to Sianipar (2004) said that
based on a national survey of drug abuse conducted by the National Narcotics Agency
(BNN) of 13,710 respondents consisting of junior high school, high school and college
students, data obtained that in the last year there were 3.9% of respondents who abused
drugs. very concerning for all people. There are many motivations and causes for
people taking drugs, including: To feel pleasure, to generate self-confidence, to feel
satisfaction and relaxation, to feel better, to relieve stress and depression, to improve
body performance Curiosity, Prestige to the theme, Running from problems
If drugs are used continuously it will lead to dependence. This will result in physical
disorders, such as: disorders of the nervous system, disorders of the heart and blood
vessels, disorders of the skin, disorders of the lungs, frequent headaches, nausea and
vomiting, diarrhea, increased body temperature, wasting liver and sleeplessness,
decreased reproductive hormone function and sexual dysfunction, period changes and
menstrual irregularities, amenorrhea (no menstruation), hepatitis B and C, HIV, and
finally death. As for psychological disorders, such as: slow work, careless, tense and
restless, pessimistic, apathetic, daydreaming, full of suspicion, becoming vicious/fierce,
difficulty concentrating, feeling irritated and depressed, and often self-harm. In
addition there are also social impacts, such as: mental disorders, anti-social and
immoral, ostracized, become a burden on the family, and the future becomes bleak.
B ut in the world of health, most drugs have the benefit of overcoming and relieving
pain and are the last resort for treatment. Not only that, there are also types of drugs that
are useful for dealing with depression, as anesthetics and so on. So if used properly, it
will also bring good benefits. It is difficult for someone to break away from drug
addiction. It must start from the awareness of the wearer and a strong will, as well as the
support of the people around him. and the need for rehabilitation to reduce or reduce the
nature of addiction
Meanwhile, to avoid drugs, we are advised to get closer to God and be aware of the
consequences that will be received if we use drugs. choose clear associates and don't
follow someone who is being imitated.
