 There is a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Assignments found with copy pasted
material or copied from fellows will not be accepted.
 Submit your assignment on your CU Online LMS portal within the given time frame.
 Emailed assignments will not be entertained.

Semester Project
Assignment # 4 is in the form of a semester project. This document presents the details and
description for the project.

Main Topic and Selection of Topic

The main topic for the project is Current Ethical dilemmas at workplace and their Solutions
in the Light of Islamic Teachings.

For the semester project, you have to work individually or in a group of maximum 5 members
and pick a topic (challenge) relevant to the main topic of “Current Ethical dilemmas at
workplace and their Solutions in the Light of Islamic Teachings”. After approval of your
topic by your moderator, you will form a report on the specific challenge you have chosen
and propose solutions for the challenge.

Marks
Total: 30 marks

CLO: HUM110_CLO2: Analyze the ethical dilemmas arising at the workplace and propose
remedial response in the light of Islamic teachings (C4‐PLO8).
Justification of CLO: Analyze the ethical challenges arising at workplace and describe
possible solutions for those challenges according to the teachings of Islam.

 How to do the Project
Step 1: Select a Topic and Get it Approved
Select a specific ethical challenge at any workplace. Your project cannot be on the main topic
in general, it has to be a particular and current challenge in any part of the world.

You will need to get your selected topic approved by your moderator through email. The
deadline for topic approval will be communicated by your moderator.

Step 2: Collect Information and Write the Report

After your topic has been approved, you will then collect information regarding the topic from
valid sources and write a report on your findings.

It is important that you write it in your own words and not plagiarize or copy from anywhere.
For information on plagiarism and how to avoid it, consult your moderator. Word limit should
not be more than 7 to 8 pages (excluding Title page, table of contents, References). Exceeding
the number of pages may lead to negative marking.

The report is worth 30 marks, therefore put proper effort into it and work on it like a project
and not just an assignment.

Your report must be structured in the following way.

Introduction
Briefly describe the project along with the topic. Also mention how the topic is related to the
main topic.

Findings and Discussion

Describe the ethical challenges in detail, including where it is being faced and in general
how many of the population is facing it. Describe the background or history of the challenge
and the consequences of it. You should include accurate information and the source of the
findings. (All sources will be listed at the end.)

Conclusion and Recommendations

Propose solutions to the challenge with reference from Islamic Teachings and describe how it
should be implemented. You can also describe the solutions others have proposed and how
well they are working to rectify the issue.

References
Refer all the sources you have used to learn about the topic and write your report. This section
is very important!

Step 3: Proofread and Submit your Report
Once you are done with your report and have proofread everything. If possible, check for
plagiarism, just to be sure that you are not at risk of losing marks due to it.

When you think, the report is ready for submission, then upload the report on CU Online as
Assignment # 4, before the Deadline. Strictly follow the deadline of submission of project, no
extension in the submission deadline will be provided.
