I. Introduction
COOPMART information
Co.opmart (also known as Co.op Mart, Co-opmart, Coopmart) is a chain of
retail supermarkets in Vietnam under the Union of Commercial Cooperatives
of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon Co.op). ). Co.opmart is currently the enterprise
with the most supermarkets in Vietnam, with more than 140 supermarkets and
hypermarkets (bao gồm Co.opmart, Co.opmart SCA, Finelife, Co.opXtra và
Co.opXtraplus)

COOPMART supermarket in district 7 work with some famous Food &


Beverage companies to improve their service as well as make the customer’s
experience better.

There are 3 F&B companies that the supermarket cooperates with: The
Pizza Company, Lotteria, Toco Toco and Hot Pot

II. Product and Service
a) Products
COOPMART often provide common products such as foods,
clothes, kitchen equipments,... to the customers.
Customers can buy their needed products with a wide range of
prices.

b) Service

Not only in district 7, COOPMART provides a delivery service, which


helps customers bring their needed products directly to their houses.

Moreover, COOPMART also has online platform called COOPONLINE,


which the customers can make their orders online at home or anywhere and
their products are moved to the houses by the delivery service.

Process of Importing and preparing products

Importing and Preparing Products

1. Forecasting
 The staffs of the supermarkets always make weekly
forecast on every Wednesday in order to make orders on
the rest of the week and avoid delay in delivery.
2. Planning
 After making forecasts, the staffs plan how to order the
products effectively (how much to order, when to order,...)
 In this step, they usually use software to optimize the
planning
3. Ordering
 Next, they call their suppliers to provide the needed goods
with specific quantities.
 There are some suppliers that the supermarket do not need
to call repeatedly due to the fixed delivery day.
4. Receiving
 The suppliers deliver products to the supermarket and
employees receive them with information given by the
managers.
5. Checking quality
 After that, the quality of products is tested to guarantee the
customer’s satisfication.
 If there is any errors in the products, the supermarket will
send back to their associated suppliers immediately
 The suppliers define the amount of defected goods and
provide the new products to the supermarket with the
same amount.
6. Warehousing
 Consequently, the employees move the imported products
to the warehouse
 The warehouse is divided into many areas for different
kinds of products.
7. Sale
 The products present on the shelves for selling.

Process of Order Fulfillment

o There are two kind of customers:


+ one who buy their needed products at the supermarket.
+ The other make their order on online platform.
o The diagram below describes all of the stages in Order
Fulfillment
1. Customer do the payment at the supermarket
- With this kind of customer, they have two options: First, they can ignore
the delivery service, which helps them move their products to their
home. Or they can choose that service for their convenience.
- If they decide to use the delivery service, their orders are sent to the
warehouse before being checked based on the payment information and
sent to the customer’s houses.
2. Customer make online orders
- These customers will buy their needed products on the online platform
of the supermarket.
- Online orders made by customers are sent to the information system of
the supermarket.
- Based on this information, the employees help the customer to prepare
the products, which are sent to the warehouse subsequently.
- At the warehouse, customer’s orders are checked carefully based on the
payment information or online orders before they are sent to the
customer’s homes.
