    narrowing and inflammation of the airways.

    Asthma is classified into four types:

    ❖ intermittent mild asthma


    ❖ mild persistent asthma
    ❖ moderate persistent asthma
    ❖ persistent severe asthma

    These types are determined by the frequency and severity of asthma symptoms.

    Symptoms:

    ❖ Wheezing
    ❖ Cough
    ❖ Inflamed airways
    ❖ Mucus in the airways

    Causes:

    ❖ Pet dander or fur


    ❖ Stress
    ❖ Tobacco smoke
    ❖ Pollen
    ❖ Dust mites
    ❖ Mold

    Treatment:

    Treatment consists of self-care and bronchodilators.
