Introduction
This School Based Assessment (S.B.A) was done as a requirement of the
Caribbean Examination Council (C.X.C) for the completion of the Office
Administration Course. The topic researched was “An Investigation of upwards
communication and the methods used”. The company which was researched was
done at Nalico Nafico. The purpose of the research was: 1. To take a look at the
methods used within Nalico Nafico to establish upward communication 2. To
identify the effectiveness of upward communication.

Methodology
To effectively and accurately gather information to aid in the completion of this
project, primary and secondary sources of data collection will be utilized.
The research instrument used to gather the information was a typed written survey.
A questionnaire, which consisted of 10 questions, will be distributed to the
receptionists at Nalico Nafico. A questionnaire was chosen because it’s easier to
attain the information and allows the receptionists to take their time when
answering the questions, allowing for more accurate responses.
The secondary instruments used to gather information were Internet articles and
textbooks as the researchers found them to be reliable sources of accurate and
diverse information.
The data will be used to create an analysis and provide the required information for
this project. The data will be presented with the use of tables, pie charts and
graphs.
