1. Name the different types of waves in electromagnetic spectrum. (In order: from lowest wavelength to
highest wavelength).

Gamma, X-rays, Ultra Violet, Visible Light, Infared, Microwaves, Radio waves.

2. How these wavelengths help us in our daily life? Give the uses or functions of each type of
wave.

We use wavelength every time in our daily life but we just don’t notice. When it comes to listening to
music, microwaves even in visible light, electromagnetic spectrum changes from higher to lower or from
lower to higher, affects us as a human, being able to see or hear if electromagnetic waves are changing to
higher or lower.

Radio waves are most likely to see in radios or broadcasting mostly in communication and it doesn’t harm
any humans

Microwaves, microwaves are widely used in modern technology because microwaves are small, and its
enough to use in technology

Infrared, infrared can be used in cooking food, and a lot of TVs remote use infra-red

Visible lights are allowing us to see things and photosynthesis in plants, and fireworks in the sky can be
an example of visible light

Ultraviolet is mainly from the sun or sunlight a lot of people use this for tanning their skin, but too much
ultraviolet exposure can cause skin disease

X-rays use in taking pictures of the human body because X-rays have high radiation that it can pass right
through the human body.

Gamma, are the highest-energy electromagnetic energy, they have the shortest wavelength and highest
frequencies but gamma rays can cause illness, but if we use this in the right controlled conditions, it can
kill cancer cells.
