CEP STATEMENT:
A catalogue fascinating subscriptions for a new diet program states that the participants are expected to lose
over 20 pounds in six weeks. Suppose that, from the data of the six-week weight losses of 75 participants,
the sample mean and sample standard deviation are found to be 21.5 and 11.5, respectively. Could the
statement in the catalogue be validated on the basis of findings?
In this assignment, students are required to formulate the solution by taking null hypothesis and alternative
hypothesis correctly for the following nature of level of significance and conclude the results accordingly.
i. Weak ii. Moderate iii. Strong
Also, check the statement for atleast 20 pounds in six weeks.
Students are expected to write a concluding report and also suggest reasonable assumptions.
