advertisement, social media, tv channel, hiring celebrities for their brand of product but in Pharmaceutical you cannot market your product like others. Pharmaceuticals have proper channel of marketing of a. Distributer / Retailer / Pharma Shops b. Doctor c. Pharmacist d. Patient But the most important thing is that the marketing channel should be strong enough between the company and doctors that’s why company hire medical rap then train them and gives them the proper market knowledge and gives them Product knowledge then train them for making sales and this helps for the channel and marketing of their products so the company spent their money on marketing, they market their specific or the products that’s needs marketing through giving the Pens. Tissue boxes, Prescription Pads and other things with the brand name and the product name so doctor should have in mind that this product exist and he can write down the name of medicine through having in mind while using the pen or the other product while advising the medicine to patient so this is how it works in this industries and also the company gives the trial samples of every medicine to the doctors for their product marketing. Medical raps are hired for the marketing and they distribute the samples of the products and if the trials samples of the products are successful and doctors are satisfied then doctors will automatically be attracted to the company and to the product and also they give doctors the medical equipment’s so that doctors should be happy and consider their medicine that’s how it works the all channel is bound with doctors that sales will be high if your marketing channel is strong and you know how to deal with the doctors and also the medical raps have every single knowledge, like in every hospital or in every doctors clinic the medical outside the hospital always exist or there so medical raps have the knowledge which medicine is pharmacy shop have or which medicine is doctor is prescribing then if they have the alternative salt of that medicine then they propose the medicine and etc which helps them in marketing and having the knowledge of that area of doctor. What are the problems Sami Pharma is facing in marketing? As marketing is done through above mentioned categories but the problem that company face usually with is with doctors. Medical raps are the one who is responsible for marketing the product and for them doctors made too tough that they have to wait for too long for doctor and even doctors made them wait and don’t meet them so the channel between doctor and medical rap is so weak, they have to wait for doctors for too long so that is one of the most difficult situations for medical rap to market their product. The problem is the channel of marketing is not that wide the company is not aware of marketing strategies that they could use technology and social media channel to improve the marketing with their patient, pharmacy. But the problem is that Sami Pharma is using the Power marketing strategy means using money for their marketing. They need to have good relation with doctors instead of that they give bunch of money to Doctors for increasing their sales and and also doctors are happy and the y write only that company medicine because they are being paid by the company this is the major factor that the channel between then is only the money and power marketing strategy is not only used by this company this effect also the other companies and they are also using this strategy for increasing their sales and the competitor are also using the strategy to gain more market share and the social outcome of this unethical marketing is that patient suffer, if the patient have some pain in leg or something then for increasing sales for the company or for the pharmacy shops doctors prescribe the stomach or any other medicine along with it only for the sales and the money which is used for doctors for their product marketing. But the competitor who don’t use this power marketing strategy do exist like Platinum,GSK,ABBOT, some companies don’t use money for this unethical marketing. When a company use this type of power marketing just to increase their sales then this will effect the patient because if the patient is having in pain in bones then just for increasing sales doctors also prescribe some other medicine like some stomach or some other medicine just for increasing the sales and it benefits the distribution and pharmacy company, shops but it have effected the patient. The only problem is these type of companies they had destroy the market system while some companies are good who are working for the welfare of people, patients. On the other hand the pharmacy is also involved in creating the wrong environment of market that when doctor agrees with medical raps that they will prescribe their medicine so for increasing their sales and making their own profit they use the technique that when patient go to pharmacy with the prescribed medicine of doctor what they do they give them the alternative of that medicine of same salt just to increase their profit whether the medicine quality is good or not or the medicine is that effective or not but their motive is only to increase the profit. They think they are doctors on their own and doing the wrong things just for making the profits How shortage of medicine effect Marketing? As in every Country the pharmacist companies have their own resource of making the medicine just to cover the market but in Pakistan no company have the development of making own raw materials they are all relied on importing the raw material, but like in india they have their own resource they produce own raw materials for medicines so this effect your market that if you don’t have own raw material and totally rely on import then you will face shortage of medicines which will effect on your company marketing, like if the company have space for their product ( orno injection) and doctors is agree to write the medicine and you are unable to provide the medicine to the market due to shortage of raw material and no production of the product for 2/3 months then doctor will prescribe the other companies medicine so that your marketing is totally wasted just because of the shortage of raw material because the raw material and the marketing are related to each other in sense that if your medicine are in market and do exist then you have to market it without marketing you will not have any sales and if you will not market your product then doesn’t matter how much the good quality company is producing there will be no sales without it. What are the possible solution of the problems mentioned above? The possible solution of the above mentioned problems are that first of all the relation of doctor and medical raps needs to be strong doctors should be kind to medical raps because if they are not then they are the one who are responsible for the sales and marketing of the company product so for that specific problem the doctor should fix a specific time for meeting medical raps if they fix the timing then it will be both accessible and the time of both parties will be saved they should have made this channel more stronger and it is only possible through fixing a time for meeting and then they can easily market their products So the problem that doctors don’t meet will be solved that medical raps can come on the specific time of meeting. Second the power marketing that it is the marketing that both parties are satisfied and wrongfully doing it the only problem is that doctors are the one who are responsible most, like when a medical present his medicine which is good and the quality of medicine is good but doctors are not satisfied only because they need money to prescribe and write the medicine so medical raps first try to convince doctors to prescribe the medicine if that not way is not successful so the offer money because they know doctor wants money so to tackle this problem government should do some action and make some policies about the prices of medicine they should have proper check and balance of pharmacy companies that they can make some restriction on prices example how they can is that the medicine(novidate 10 tablets) totally cost the company hardly 50 rupees but they sell in market for 350 and in just because of the money use in power marketing and other activities but if government should set the prices which can both government and pharmacy are agreed on maximum profit so the money which is used in power marketing can be handled example if government set the price to 100 or 120 then the company cannot spend the money on bribery because the audit and id FBR regulates policy so the power marketing should be stopped. This needs to be stopped because it only effects patients and people the high prices of medicine only because of companies and the doctors and distributors want money and money, on the other hand many companies who don’t use this power marketing and doing things right they spent money for the welfare of patients and not spending this money on power marketing they still making profits just because they are doing the right things company should spent money on buying hospital the medical equipment’s which can give benefit to patients. And about pharmacy company they are also doing wrong things that they don’t give the prescribed medicine of doctors and give the same salt medicine of other company so that they can earn profit form the sales for that company so there should be proper check and balance by the hospital and from the doctors of that area so that behavior by the shops need to be controlled and some legal punishments and legal handling should be made and this can be only possible if management and hospital and doctor will look into it and have check and balance in the pharmacy shops And on the other hand the company is very much dependent on paper work they don’t use the technology for their marketing channel or for the promotion or for DCR daily call report, company spent too much millions of money on paper work daily call report recorded on paper and many so on they spend too much money but they need to be shift on technology like other competitor are using Tablets for daily call report and use it for promotion like they use it while showing product also with doctors so technological improvement are in need for the company Sami and other Pakistan’s top brand are suffering shortage of raw material and how it affects the marketing because marketing and raw material are related in sense of that if your medicine are in market then it is possible and need s marketing but if you don’t market your product then no matter the quality standard your are producing there will be no sales without marketing but if you don’t have the raw material to produce or to cover the existing supply of your product market then it can effect your company and this is effecting like if you have supply for some medicine or product and you convince doctor to prescribe your medicine and just du to shortage of raw material of that product your production stops for a time period of 2/3 months like now because of economic crisis or in covid 19 shortage of raw materials cause the companies losses and disturb the whole market so the point is when you convinced doctor for medicine but due to shortage reason of raw material your production stops and due to this problem doctor will prescribe alternative of that medicine or write or prescribe other company medicine so in order to tackle this raw material need to be produced in Pakistan as in india they produce their own raw material, companies should hire proper researcher, scientist proper research and hiring of researcher from Pakistan or from the foreign because we have the resource like phosphate and about 60 to 70 percent chemical can be produced. Government should help the private sector in order to achieve the goal so that raw material can be produced in our own country like in India their government helped them and they achieved the goal and producing raw material of their own and their pharmacy sector is strong as compared to Pakistan.
