An opportunity exists for an Engineer to join our team.
EDC is a Perth based engineering consultancy business that
specialises in:
Structural dynamics.
Non-routine vibration.
Design/audits of bulk handling machinery.
Computer simulation.
Fatigue analysis.
Test and measurement of structures/machines.
3D Modelling and Simulation / VR / Drafting.
EDC provides these services to the mining, offshore,
industrial, rail, aeronautical and marine industries across
Australia and overseas.

Ideally the applicant will have:

A Mechanical, Structural or Mechatronics degree.
Two to ten or more years of experience as a consultant.
EDC is open to applications from all levels. Salary will be
commensurate with experience.
A solid understanding of FEA simulation.
A broad understanding of measurement principles.
Report writing ability and experience.
A sound understanding of dynamics and vibration.
Be available to undertake site travel of approximately one to
seven days at a time, as required, to remote sites in Australia
or overseas. NB site travel is generally limited however it will
arise and EDC does pay overtime or provides TOIL in line
with internal policies.
Knowledge of the software EDC uses: I-DEAS, ANSYS
Classic and Workbench, and NX FEA software packages.

Working under the direction of senior staff, the position will

involve:
Undertaking computer based FEA simulations of
structural/mechanical systems.
Liaising with your client.
Checking the accuracy and soundness of your own work.
Undertaking simple benchmark checks to confirm modelling
approach/techniques.
Undertaking your own continuous on-the-job professional
development (we expect you to continuously test the
software, your knowledge and overall understanding). In
addition EDC will provide resources for external training
where required.
Providing regular progress updates to senior staff.
Preparing professional engineering reports.
