Long time ago, Bear and Fire were good friends who shared good things
between them. One day, Bear went to the forest with his friend to
hunt. Fire was hungry but he couldn’t find Bear because he was away.

Bear and Fire:
- a traditional story - written long ago
- We don't know the author. It's passed by word of mouth.
- characters named Bear and Fire
- We learned how Fire gave us benefits (good things).
- We read that Bear could talk to Man. This doesn't happen in real life.

What makes a story a legend (the features of a legend):
- A hero or heroine is the main character.
- There is a dangerous task. There is a monster, beast or a powerful
enemy.
- There is an event in the past that is true or was probably true, or
an event which is believed to be true by the people from that
culture.
