Practicality Vs. Passion: Which Is Better for Creating Our Career Path

What's more important, your money or your future? What makes it harder for people to

decide on what is right? You're wrong if you think it's just because of financial status; it takes

more than that. Practicality is a matter of convenience; it means choosing the best. In business, it

means deciding what you need over what you want. On the other hand, passion is doing what

you want, a desire that grows with its owner. I am siding with passion because it improves career

growth, have a pleasant environment and a sense of fulfillment. Choosing passion as your path in

a career means how happy you want to be in the future; besides, passion is unique to each

person.

First, is it not obvious that choosing one's passion can improve your career growth? Look

at all those people who achieved success by choosing what they wanted, for example, Walt

Disney, before he reached the top, he was just an ambulance driver in France during World War

1. Then he became a newspaper editor, but they said that job fired him for his lack of

imagination. But that loss became a blessing for him, he was freed from the shackles of choosing

practicality and switching to what he loves to do, and his passion for making cartoon series led

him to success now. You see, when you're passionate about your job, you can do much more.

The possibility is endless! You never know; maybe in the career you want, you have the upper

hand that others don't.

A pleasant environment can help you do your job smoothly; do you agree? Well, if many

people choose to do their passionate job, your working environment will surely be good because

they want the same work as yours. Having this kind of environment can have all your workmates

have a great experience, besides it can also increase your productivity. Think about it; increasing

productivity can also benefit not you but also your employer.

Lastly, we all know that choosing what you love the most can give you a sense of

fulfillment. In today's era, having money is essential, which is why many people do whatever it

takes to have work or an alternative source of income. Some students take the path of being

practical and should choose this over that so they will have no significant expenses. There are

many more situations like that, so this is where practicality and passion come in. If you can

observe and think of your future, even the present, you will realize that if success means

choosing other things over what you want, you will not succeed. Yes, you can gain a lot by being

practical, such as a job. However, eventually, you will be burned out, you know? Your

performance will eventually drop; it's like you're pushing yourself in an environment you do not

fit into. Furthermore, choosing what's best sometimes is unnecessary. If you're choosing your

passion, you can do a lot, and in the end, you can have fulfillment because you are doing the

things you want the most; you also gain money in the process, and lastly, you're happy and

contented. What’s the harm, right?

Some people wouldn't agree with what I said. They would have lots of counter to that;

they may say, "what will happen if you only follow your passion and that passion leads to

nothing" "Yes, you will be much happy if you follow your passion. However, what if I say that

your passion is gaming, and for an unfortunate reason, you are stuck there playing and not

become some famous gamer like others?" "What would you do if that passion became something
that could be your downfall, huh?" Well, they have some points, but it's not enough to change

my argument. A passion that will lead to nothing? I would argue with that because I believe your

passion is born from a goal of what you want to become, and you know in yourself if your goal

is something bad or not. As I said a while ago, following your passion makes you happy and has

many possibilities. You see, even if your passion is gaming and somewhat didn't make it, it

doesn't mean it stops there because more opportunities can be presented, you can become

someone who tests games and such, and eventually, you can try again in the career you want to

become that once failed. Passion will always be equipped together with determination and a

mindset of not giving up.

In conclusion, we are the ones who are in control of our paths; always take in mind that

choosing passion as your career path means how happy you want to be in the future. In the end,

whatever you take, you will gain experience, money, and more. It's just that if you choose

passion, it can improve career growth, have a pleasant environment, and have a sense of

fulfillment. I recommend that you think and consider different opportunities the next time you

encounter a situation where you must choose between practicality and passion.
