Bakit Na-Bankrupt Ang Bansang Sri Lanka?

The first video tackles how Sri Lanka has faced an economic crisis, they have no/low
supply of food, fuel, and medicines also, and they experience frequent blackouts and nonstop
protests. The country is currently in dept with a total of 51 billion dollars with this they only have
1.94 dollars of money for the country. Some say it is caused by policy, politics, and the pandemic.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa or Gota is the president of the country, and he wants to lower the taxes. In
March Gota lowered the price of rupees hoping that it can attract remittances, however, it didn’t
go according to his plan.
It was shocking to hear that the country Sri Lanka currently faces an economic crisis, some
would think that it is caused by policy, politics, and the pandemic and I agree with that. The fact
that they experience the worst economic crisis to the point that all crisis is being experienced by
people shows how badly Sri Lanka is being managed by Gota, he lowered the tax, but I think he
went too far because lowering too much of the tax affects the revenue of the government. The
country became worst when he banned imported chemical fertilizers for the reasons that it is much
healthy for the people, but later they realize it is just a cover-up for the fact that a shortage of
dollars in Sri Lanka started happening and the government want to save their foreign reserves in
which resulted later on in a decrease of 50% in the production of rice and shortage in the whole
country. Gota made a mistake in saving foreign reserves because of what he did instead of saving
it just increase the costs of the government. Lastly, his worst mistake is lowering the prices of
rupees in the hope that it can attract remittances, but unfortunately it just made the purchasing
power of the country decrease. All of his mistakes in policy and politics resulted in crises such as
trade deficit and inflation, about pandemic it is a manmade disaster, so Gota doesn’t have control
over this crisis but sadly it has a big impact on their revenue.
Gota I think did his best when he realize that there has been a shortage of dollars and a
future economic crisis will take place it is just that his starting point is very wrong he acts and
declared something without thinking of the consequences, It saddens me that they face crisis big
time I hope that this country will surpass the obstacles they face right now.

Bilyon-Bilyon Ang Kanilang Pera Ngunit Bakit Mahirap Pa Rin Sila?

It saddens me that the country Zimbabwe and Venezuela also experienced economic crisis
specifically the “Hyperinflation”. The president of Zimbabwe named Robert Mugabe and also
Nicholas Maduro who manages Venezuela have something in common they are both greedy and
manage their country poorly, Rober Mugabe showed his true colors when he was elected, he was
a true dictator a truly scary man because even the investors leave for the reason that right after he
becomes president, he taxed everything that could be taxed. Well, he deserves to be stripped of his
title because of what he did many people lost their jobs and become hungry. On the other hand,
Venezuela supposes to be a good country with a stable economic lead by Hugo Chaves, however,
due to the poor votes made by other citizens, they got the worst president named Nicholas Maduro
who later on cause havoc to the country. Nicholas caused the oil price to decrease and made its
demand vanish in the global market. In addition, the currency of Venezuela also decreased.
Poor Economic Management and Dictatorships are 2 of the factors that cause the counties
demise, economy declined because of their so-called poverty solutions for the country.
