Baby Delivered!

The sun was setting on the small town of Millfield as Mary walked home from her
shift at the bakery. She had been working hard all day and was looking forward to
putting her feet up and relaxing for the evening. As she turned onto her street,
she noticed that something was different. All of the houses were dark and there
were no cars on the road. She quickened her pace, feeling a sense of unease wash
over her. When she reached her house, she saw that the front door was open and
the living room light was on. She froze, not sure what to do. Should she go inside
and see what was happening or run and get help? Just then, a figure appeared in
the doorway. It was her neighbor, Mr. Thompson. "Mary, thank goodness you're
here," he said, a look of relief on his face. "I've been trying to find someone to
help me. My wife is having a baby and I don't know what to do." Mary's fear was
replaced by a sense of determination. She may not have had any medical training,
but she knew how to stay calm in a crisis. "Don't worry, Mr. Thompson," she said
confidently. "I'll go call for an ambulance and then I'll help you until they arrive."
And with that, Mary sprang into action, making sure that Mrs. Thompson and the
new baby were safe and comfortable until the ambulance arrived. As she watched
the ambulance drive away, Mary couldn't help but feel proud of herself for rising
to the occasion and helping her neighbors in their time of need.
